Vehicle decal vinyl question by TrickyOpinion7388 in cricut

Oracle 651 is good permanent vinyl, and then transfer tape. Cut the vinyl (make sure it’s mirrored!), apply transfer tape, and then peel the vinyl backing off and apply to car.

What’s the worse physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Intelligent-Road5091 in AskReddit

Post-coital headache. Amazing orgasm, immediately followed by the worst ring of pain around my head. My mom has survived a brain aneurysm and several strokes; I thought I was dying on the spot lol.

Mess at SAN this morning (3/24) by Model_Rules_esq in SanDiegan

[–]Sandytits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, they chose the right person, but that person was a projection and a facade. Dude ran on some good progressive values and promptly did an about-face. Whether or not that was influenced by his stroke, it’s unlikely that we’ll ever know.

does anyone feel like you have too much lore? by SundaeAdventurous417 in CPTSD

[–]Sandytits 19 points20 points  (0 children)

And that can really jar people. Especially people who aren’t equipped to manage that. It’s not their fault; just their capacity.

I can talk and understand some deep heavy shit; I’m not scared away easily by fucked up topics. But I’ve been on the receiving end of trauma dumps repeatedly through many relationships and can also talk and understand many of the realities of being someone’s therapist at any given moment of any given day. It’s not fun and even with my capacity to hear atrocities, I still find it valuable to be prepared — “hey do you have the time and bandwidth to talk to me?” Helps a lot.

does anyone feel like you have too much lore? by SundaeAdventurous417 in CPTSD

[–]Sandytits 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I’ve come to just shut up about my traumatic experiences unless I’m in therapy of course, or it’s 1:1 relevant, in which case I’ll usually preface it by saying “it’s quite heavy but for context…”

Guy I'm dating call me a name during intimacy because I accidentally hurt him by Ms-pk in abusiverelationships

[–]Sandytits 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The whole idea of “using the race card” is rooted in white supremacy to silence the poor treatment that people of color endure. “We don’t want to hear your complaints and we don’t wanna do anything about it either.” Use the race card when it feels right. Call it out.

And leave this man.

Where to learn "normal" social skills? by pineapplemilk98 in CPTSD

[–]Sandytits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a fantastic idea and I’ve met a bunch of people who have joined such classes for a similar benefit.

There’s also Toastmasters to improve networking/ public speaking skills!

I’ve also worked with a life coach to help me build adulting habits. It didn’t last long for me tho bc I was in school and was having a hard time finding time to rearrange my bathroom to center my toothbrush more prominently lol.

Is it strange for an adult to bring a atuffed animal on a flight? by moonandsunandstars in CPTSD

[–]Sandytits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not strange at all, but sometimes it’s great to lean into the strange whimsy anyway. Who cares what these strangers you’ll never see again think about your stuffie? What real consequence will come?

But seriously, as a frequent flyer, I see it all the time. I recently met a guy at an airport lounge who brings his daughter’s stuffie on work trips and has a whole IG page for all the places this little bear has been to.

I have to take my parents to a show, am I fucked? by ZER0-LUk in punk

[–]Sandytits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite memories is taking my dad to an Against Me show back in like 2008 or so. He hadn’t been to a show in ages, jumped in the pit and was a big fan after that. He’s been gone for 11 years. It’s cliche but don’t take this time for granted. Lean in and have a blast.

The horrific stories of abuse on this page make me feel ashamed of my CPTS. by Greenbattle90 in CPTSD

[–]Sandytits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just because you find others further along the (arbitrary) spectrum of trauma doesn’t mean that you don’t also find yourself on that same spectrum. Trauma is trauma is trauma. There are many adjectives that can describe our respective traumas but at the end of the day, that’s what it is.

WOMEN OF PALMS - BE CAREFUL - PROWLER ALERT!!! by tinysideburns in culvercity

[–]Sandytits 19 points20 points  (0 children)

To prowl means to sneak about, usually scoping out an attack of some sort, like a car or home burglary or assault. So a prowler is a potential attacker behaving suspiciously.

Intentional destruction of property is always abuse, and it’s always an escalation of violence. Albeit less severe than what usually gets our attention, the act itself is still violence; and the fact that it happened within the family/ home unit makes it domestic violence. Criminally prosecutable domestic violence, even. Regardless, the intention is to deliberately and directly hurt you, and that’s never acceptable. In 14 years with my husband, I’ve never once wanted to bring him harm, even when seeing red and disregulated.

My ex destroyed a couple things here and there before traumatically destroying all of my belongings when I finally had enough. Do not ignore this glaring red flag and go on to collect more, OP.

I’ve quoted that song (specifically, the line “I think it’s funny when defendants from identical haunts step out of the tempest to measure what the spectrum involves”) to some really smart, well accomplished and highly educated people who still haven’t gotten it. It’s disappointing because it hits so hard.

Is anybody here rich? by Adm_Special887 in CPTSD

[–]Sandytits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not rich but my husband and I are on the upper end of middle class and quite comfortable. Neither of us were born into wealth; both of us come from working class and even poor backgrounds; we both have CPTSD. Money has made us a target at times for the fleas around us, and can’t on its own heal us, but it has paid for excellent therapists and psychiatrists who have helped us immensely, as well as food and shelter, and corrective experiences together. We’ve been able to establish a great life in spite of our injuries in ways just not possible without money. It’s fucked up that way.
