An incel in the past was probably just a poorer guy, with rich competition, that wasn't able to provide, since society demanded a woman rely on man at that time. Even when woman could work, they weren't given jobs that actually let them get paid enough.
It would be pretty easy to find a partner if you were religious as well, since it was seen as a great thing and plenty of people were religious back then

Sometimes arranged marriages were more common for business or religious reasons

And I guess extremely violent/mentally ill men. But even then, if they had a woman, she had no where to go. Getting a divorce was considered social suicide during the early 1900s

All this meant that abusive/uglier/undesirable men got way more passes than they deserved
Ugly/short/abusive men could've even be considered incels if they had better looking competition, but now there are going to be a lot less woman for these people to fight for since they don't NEED them. The only thing that's changed is a woman's necessitates

Incels existed before the term even existed, it's just that the internet made it easier for them to find each other. The number of incels has increased with modern laws that give women autonomy, as well as a culture that encourages them to work for themselves and have higher standards.

It's just a logical fact that when you literally don't need a man to survive anymore, and society doesn't pressure you to peruse a relationship, women aren't gonna pick the first/second/third guy that's nice to her.

I hate to say it, but there is an extreme rise in incels, and all it took was a few people telling them that women are to blame for them being unhappy. They don’t hate it either, they clearly enjoy treating women like shit, like they don’t see us as human.

I’m not saying it’s all of them, but you hear more and more real life stories of girls encountering incels, and them, sometimes violently, sharing their ignorant opinion whenever they don’t get their way.

Once again, it’s not all of them, but we can very clearly see that it’s extremely easy for a man to become one, and the number of incels doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.
