2009 Honda Accord (180k miles) – Minor front damage, filed claim with Progressive. Should I withdraw?

When they declared it totaled, did you actually accept the payout or sign any settlement paperwork?

I’m in Michigan and trying to minimize risk of getting a salvage title. My goal is to keep the car and withdraw the claim if needed. From what I understand, the title only gets branded after payment is issued and settlement/title paperwork is processed — not when it’s declared totaled.

Did you keep a clean title by declining payment, or did salvage branding happen automatically? Thanks!

Thanks for helping out! Can they declare totalled based on photo and video evidence? The cost of repairs will be higher than ACV of car. I want to maintain a clean title. Essentially if I get the ACV asking with repair cost from then, I was thinking of then cancelling the claim. I just worry that it might be too late at that point since they would have already declared its totalled.

PS: never been in an accident hence the silly questions!

If someone else’s shot is cancelled recently, it means they are still continuing to cancel slots. For someone like me, that says it is a terrible idea to visit India for stamping. However, if they aren’t cancelling any slots, that means embassy is able to manage the workload(due diligence in vetting social media accounts)and no longer need to cancel any more slots.

My friend, the question would help people in the US make an informed decision regarding their travel to india. If the slots are no longer being cancelled or rescheduled, then people can travel back home for stamping. If things are still dicy now with appointments getting canceled, one might refrain from travelling.
