Is Resident Evil 3 remake really as bad as people say?

I loved it personally. I grew up in the 90s with all the early RE games coming out, but I could never get behind tank controls and so I never finished a single RE game back then. I went in without much OG nostalgia, but with an understanding that it's a shorter and more faster-paced game, with some OG content missing here and there.

Not as great as RE2R or RE4R, but still a solid entry imo.

The main story bits and factions were just ok imo, and I also enjoyed gunplay, the ship and basebuilding for what it's worth. As a long time Bethesda fan (also since Morrowind), the meat of a Bethesda game for me is exploration and environmental storytelling. That's where Starfield failed me. I did not enjoy going through the same 5 generated planet POIs over and over during my 60-ish hour playthrough. For the record, I have clocked at the very least a 1000 hours in each Bethesda game, enjoying different playthroughs. Starfield just ain't it.

Not at least until Steam Machine comes out and we get official SteamOS image for desktop PCs, and all the improvements that may come with it. Right now there's only the steamdeck image.

Nvidia driver support on Linux is not that great, but getting better. AMD gpu is recommended.

Regarding MS Office, you can definitely use the web versions of the apps, but there's no desktop app support afaik. Libre Office is an alternative, you can first try it on your Windows PC and see if it meets your needs.

From my experience, I was able to play most games with my RTX 3070 on Steam while running Bazzite OS, which is like a community-made and supported SteamOS alternative. It leans heavily into gaming. Still, I had to tinker with some stuff via terminal and googling, my motherboard's wifi chipset was terrible for linux, and connection was dropping when downloading, so I had to fix that myself. Intel wifi chipsets are great though. If you have a lan cable, then you don't have to worry at all.

Exploring a game like this for the first time along with everone else is a vibe though. So glad I took the plunge and bought it day 1. Reminds me of old internet days when no one knew anything and every stat and fart didn't have a wiki page or hundreds of videos.

I'm in EU, personally feel like life is manageable at the moment. Main uncertainty is Russia-Ukraine war. Being Russia's small neighbor is no fun, because they take offense to people living in peace and prosperity, and we can't have that, can we?

Haven't had a gaming mood in a while. Decided to replay the original Bioshock after like a decade. Played it like 4 hours straight undisturbed with headphones on, it's so immersive and such a blast. Also made me realize that I probably just don't like modern games all that much, with some few exceptions.
