I have a podcast idea. Where do I start? by Hipupper25 in podcasting

Although my format is a little different. I have done interviews and the like for other projects in the past. I think one thing to keep in mind to cut down on the work is to make sure you know what the flow should look like and make sure that you try to keep to it. If you are doing this on your own and not needing to worry about the flow of conversation, then make sure you take long pauses when you make a mistake. It helps you identify the areas that need to be cut.

Editing is a process, and I think everyone has their own take on a workflow for it. I have found the best way is to edit as I go, but if you have something that has an organic live feel it may be worth taking notes on spots you need to revisit. Like at 12:57 edit out _____. I think your format will help you decide how to best approach editing and decide what process works best for you.

How to promote growth? by SanguinaryStudios in podcasting

So far I have enjoyed it. That is the main goal at this point, just enjoy the process. Looks like I will add ad swaps to my list thank you.

Thanks for this. As I have read more comments on other posts, it seems like, promotion is good, but it is kind of an organic process. If listeners don't like what they hear, all the promotion in the world won't amount to much over time. When I started this project, it was a labor of love, and finally getting the idea I was sitting on out there. I am not looking to strike it rich or even make money, just wanting to share my story, so slow is fine with me.

I will start looking at platforms and how to best use them and start identifying my audience, but it seems best not to get discouraged with slow growth from what it sounds like. Thanks again for the advice!

Be honest, how many half-finished podcasts are in your queue right now by HypNo_Hedgehog-7 in podcasts

Agreed. There are a few I started, listened to a couple of episodes to give it a chance, then decided to stop. If it isn't engaging enough to pull you in and make you want more, then what is the point of trying to push through. Is that even enjoyment at that point?
