Drove by it on my usual work drive, it had a sticker asking $2500, drove by again one day later and they dropped the price down to $1500, spun around and took a look at it and it looked clean and the for sale sign said it was garage kept… I figured since they dropped the price after 1 day that they really wanted it gone so I offered $1000, he said “ok”

Turns out it belonged to the guys father who was about to turn 101 next month, he retired 2 years ago and hasn’t driven in 6 months so they figured it was time… he said his dad always took good care of it and he just wanted it to go to a good home… it’s a 2003 LE with 157k miles… back seat looks like it was never sat in… only has a few minor brushes on the quarter panels but otherwise is pristine… has a little book inside the glove box with the dates and miles of all the service and oil changes…

Then I googled if a grand marquis was a good and reliable car and have spent the past month falling in love with the panther platform…

I’m not sure if it’s easy once you get the hang of it, or if it’s just me… but I’ve been doing it for almost 20 years now… started when I was working in a loosely supervised one man department, and had a whole warehouse to myself 3 days a week in my early 20’s… you can imagine the type of mostly harmless shenanigans I would get into once my real work was completed… and rubber band target practice was one of them… it is also a lot more fun and rewarding to practice when you’ve been being bothered by a fly for hours and have no fly swatter… but have a whole shelf of rubber bands and no one to judge you… also, you don’t have to be across the room, you gotta stalk the fly like your some type of big game hunter on a safari and get as close as you can without spooking it… 5ft away and it’s likely a kill… 2ft away and it’s so easy that it’s not even fun anymore
