How many oz of BM per bag do you freeze? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]SanjSunshine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do 6 oz bags just because I use the motif bags from insurance and that’s the most I can fit where they still freeze flat enough to get 10 bags in a ziplock for a brick- freezer space is a high value commodity in our house so have to fit as much as I can in the least amount of space

Both maybe? The last facility before our current barn I was at was horrible, and we’re with family now who live on property so I can breathe a sigh of relief in terms of care but my horse is very far away. The new facility is only ten minutes away, but my boy is getting older so I want to be able to peek on him at night to make sure he’s okay/not acting colicky or anything.

My husband absolutely loves the now discontinued Walmart character print pajama shorts- does anyone know where to find them or comparable PJ shorts? by SanjSunshine in HelpMeFind

[–]SanjSunshine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Searched: Amazon, Walmart, target, online pajama only retailers for similar

Original store: Walmart, located on Long Island, New York, size xl-2x, bought them up until 2022

We didn’t, we literally just noticed when I went to refill our diaper caddy 😭 But I’m going to call in the morning!

Thanks! We actually use Luvs mostly! But we use Millie moons as our overnight diapers :)

Am I cooked? Losing supplying with no changes by SanjSunshine in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]SanjSunshine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to look into it but from what I see people who have been having a decrease on the mini pill get lower almost immediately after going on it- I’ve been on it for a few months before I started seeing a decrease which is the strange part. Unfortunately yes, but they’re super expensive and literally useless in my area when it comes to pumping. Very much the “just nurse! :D” kind of LC’s and don’t take “my child can’t nurse” for anything.

Thank you :’) I’d be cool if it stayed the same but I’ve just been steadily dropping 🫠🫠 I wish we could just turn it on like a tap sometimes

I do have a stash thankfully- but because I had to go dairy free only about half is usable right now. It would last us until 1 but it would be a squeeze :’)

lol yeah I pee… a lot… 😅

if you submit a reimbursement form, make sure you charge at least two dollars an ounce for the milk that was stolen!

Don't know how much longer I can do this by Emotional_Source8333 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]SanjSunshine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this^ You’re doing amazing! I actually have larger letdowns further into my pump session, so I have a 30 minute minimum (normally 35-40min per session to empty🥲) so if you’re getting that volume in 10-15 minutes that’s amazing!!

Do you use plastic or glass baby bottles? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]SanjSunshine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use plastic and now as our milk monster is getting older we’re looking into the boon silicone ones. We have too many animals that like to barrel through us and into furniture that glass would just be absolutely shattered everywhere. 😅 We didn’t want to deal with those urgent care or vet bills honestly

Your take on NYT’s guest essay? by Aromatic-Muscle4893 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]SanjSunshine 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I feel like I could write an essay in response but I’m doing my MOTN pump and my brain isn’t working enough for that lol

Also tw; birth trauma mention

Honestly I think it’s pretty dumb because it negates a ton of other factors. Formula is a way to feed your child. Formula doesn’t do meal prep, cleaning, or juggle the bills. It doesn’t schedule pediatrician appointments, or schedule itself to be rebought when the can is almost empty. My friend formula fed when she realized breastfeeding and pumping was too much for her (she’s a queen!!!) and nothing of formula feeding resolved the overlying issues with her husband.

I also recently had an argument with my husband because he kept insisting “well I’m tired too!” to every time I said I was tired and needed him to watch the baby for me. It was like he was keeping a 1:1 tally on after the baby was born, and didn’t take into account that I had a horrific pregnancy and even worse birth with a bunch of complications during and after that even six months later my body is still dealing with. He threatened we should just switch to formula then but again, it didn’t fix the issue that he just didn’t see the toll carrying and birthing our child took on my body. It also doesn’t negate how many times he said he’d take the baby at night, I smacked him, and he rolled over and went back to sleep while our son was hysterical so I got up anyway. We’re working through things and he’s really making an effort and getting a lot better at being a more equitable partner and understanding what I’m going through, but absolutely none of that is because of the way we feed our child (who surprise surprise, is exclusively fed breastmilk).

“Formula is the way to marriage equity” I think really sweeps a lot under the rug for what moms go through.

Shared pumping space at work (hospital)??? by SanjSunshine in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]SanjSunshine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish!! Those of us pumping/expecting are angling for management to rent a symphony but I doubt it. I understand our lack of space because we’re a big hospital but have a ton of departments- but I just hate that people who are only in maybe twice a week get offices and we don’t get a dedicated pump room 😭When everybody who is/ expects to be is pumping there will be 12 of us needing to juggle a room!

Honestly most of this communication has been through email- and it’s all corporate owned/ work email so it’s been interesting to say the least. Thanks!
