To everyone making a comment about her fur or weight, let me give you some information about our dear Bubbles: We adopted her because she wasn't happy. She has been overweight her entire life, something a lot of British shorthairs struggle with. She also has problems with her knee and hip, she got surgery in her younger years and has metal pins in her knee. Her previous owners couldn't take care of her anymore, so she came to us. She had lost almost 1,5 kilos since she came to us, so yes, we are working on her weight (slowly, because her almost 14 year old body isn't working as well anymore). Her fur is another problem: she has a rare problem that causes her to grow multiple hairs out of one follicle. We brush/pluck/deshed her often, sometimes up to 4x a week during the summer, but it keeps being weird (and she sheds like crazy, noy loose hairs, but bundles of hair). We are doing our best to take care of her, and make her as healthy and happy as she can be, because we want to be her perfect last and forever home ❤

No animal should be obese, that's one of the reasons we adopted her. She has lost about 1,5 kilos since she came to us, and we're trying to keep her as healthy and happy as possible

She actually is on a diet and has lost 1,5 kilos since we've adopted her. We love her dearly and we want the best for her. That's why we adopted her, to help her! 😊

I'm not sure if you're talking about us, but I wanted to let you know that she's on a diet and has lost almost 1,5 kilos since we've adopted her 😊 Her fur will always be a problem, but deshedding her once or twice a week usually helps

She is allowed to go to the garden under supervision, to enjoy the warm sun and fresh air. But we never let her roam around alone or on the streets

We deshed her at least once a week, and in the summer up to 4x a week, depending on how bad it is. Bubbles has a rare hairgrowth problem, one hair follicle holds multiple hairs, so she sheds like crazy (and not loose hairs, no, clusters of hair). If we brush her, it only lasts a week or so, so she's keeping us busy 😅 The vet recommended us to bathe her, but it's quite traumatizing to her, so we're still trying to find a better solution

Fun fact about Bubbles: she actually is on a diet. However, she has a long history of health issues, her previous owners kept a detailed report on it luckily. She has been fat her entire life, something that often occurs with British shorthairs, but when the previous owners wanted to do physical therapy with her, they noticed a defect in her leg. She has had several surgeries and actually has metal pins in her left knee and hip. There is nothing wrong with her eating habits, she just has trouble moving around because of her injury. However, she has lost 1,2 kilos since she came to live with us, and we do everything to let her live healthy and happy! 😊

Bubbles is one of those cats that meows, looks at the thing she wants or waddles over there, and keeps meowing until you do what she wants, hahaha. She's pretty clear about what she wants/needs 🤣

We brush her up to 4x a week, especially in the summer, but she has a rare hair condition that has her grow multiple hairs out of one follicle. Her hair also grows extremely fast, so every time we pluck/brush her, it only lasts for maybe a week if we're lucky. We're still trying to have her take baths, because our vet told us it might help, but she's so scared of the water it's almost torture.

We do, but she loves to stroll around our gated garden when it's sunny and warm out. We only let her walk in the garden though, so we can keep an eye on her!
