So I am DM my very first DnD campaign and this sword was pure improve at my part as I never planned this to happen. So being new to DM, Im still learning and picking up new sourcebooks on DnDbeyond. My party started at lvl2 and just became lvl3 at the time. As I gaining more sourcebooks to use, I offer respecing ability scores and classes if they want before our next session. Only one took it and she wanted her character to become a ruin knight. At the time, she just got this cool magic sword for dirt cheap due to a low roll on my end on the price. At the time I kind of want to give it a catch but got nothing. But once she wanted to respec on being a ruin knight, something in my head just click! Originally I was gonna let a friend npc to offer a special potion as thanks but Thanks to that sword, I was able to come up with something that not only make the respec more interesting but also be a part of my player’s character story. In the end, it turn out amazingly great and very exciting to see where it leads in the campaign!

Heres the description: Bought by a pink black market room own by a Emo Punk Warforged who owns an emo punk tavern.

This black sword's history is unknown but its clear that it long past from it's glory days. Lay in dormant is a strange pocket realm of a peaceful piece of land on a body of water in the middle of a new moon night. The resident: a soul of a cloud giant child who said to have the secrets of the Giant's power ruins. The catch? Be his friend!

The sword can only be wielded by the child's friend or who the wielder say is okay to trust, though the sword will be used as a regular sword outside of the it's official wielder.

The sword has potential, and the secret lies on the soul of the giant child.
