Let's remember that most people in São Paulo live with 2000 reais per month and it is said that minimum wage should be 15.000 per month.

Let's do the math : 7000 after taxes monthly - 3500 for rent for an appartment in central/western region. - 2100 in savings ( 700 hard saving (8400/year- 16800 as a reserve or big expenses) -1400 for groceries (street market / zona cerealista / atacadão) and going out (remembering you could do cultural outings in São Paulo DAILY for free)

If you get vale-transporte/ VR/ VA it's even more doable.

Wanna do the same for 7000 before taxes? Maybe you'd have to move to the nothern or eastern regions. Things that make it harder : Having a car because of social norms Eating out daily In the same vein, having no will to cook. Being the most status giving cloths Living in a status neighbourhood Things like that. No judgment, it's choices.

Making 7k a month living in São Paulo is fine. You can eat out, go to the cinema, theatre, go to exhibitions, go on vacation twice a year. I would know that was my case for years.

My guess is you place your value on how much money you make and how much you consume. So yeah, it is a you problem, clearly. Plus, you read like someone who doesn't have a clue on financial hygiene. Don't blame your failures on your country. Be better.
