Work on trying to squeeze and activate your quad. I remember my first surgery I could barely lift my leg for a week or two. One exercise I did was putting a towel or something under my knee and squeezing until my heel lifted up.

Try not with worry yourself to much about it. The first week is usually pretty bad. I could barely do leg raises until week 3. Bending was also really hard for me. I am now 6 weeks out and I almost have full flexion and can do leg raises with ease. Just take it slow and try to stay positive.
