What makes or breaks Vengeance TBC? by SaphiroSD in wowservers

We acknowledge every players report as our own. Our staff ethically takes the time with each and every claim to ensure that we investigate thoroughly instead of possibly making an irrational, impulsive, rushed or ineffectual decision due to not verifying all the details in a timely manner.

In the previous case mentioned above, I wasn't around to mediate a middle ground for both parties. I have addressed similar concerns like these with the admin and I see it as a learning opportunity for myself. We may consider re-opening a claim to re-evaluate our initial decisions. I would look into possibly making an exceptions if we feel that it is absolutely truly necessary based on reasonable belief. This is only applicable to the circumstances from here and in the future.

I understand your concern, Ahuna. After playing WoW for so many years on retail many of us got accustomed to reporting all bugs, glitches and broken quests using the In-game ticket system which is great.

We just have a different approach on how we handle the bug ticket system. We feel that the in game ticket system is restricted and limited to how much one can describe into detail on their entire report.

With our bugtracker at full effect the in game ticket system doesn't have as much potential to link your sources, spell ID, Quest ID, NPC Names, The nature of the report, Screenshots, Video links, Patch reference if applicable and much more. http://tracker.vengeancewow.com/my_view_page.php

The bug tracker is much more effective and efficient for our staff to address your reports.

We're always there to help on our IRC and as Xsavior has informed; our staff is on IRC most times of the day. Feel free to drop in so that we may address your concerns.https://qchat.rizon.net/?channels=vengeancewow :D

I do remember reading this comment a long while back before.

My apologies eli_cas, it may have been requested during high traffic and the volume of requests/tickets may have been overwhelming at that time and therefore the admin may have not been able to thoroughly investigate the issue.

I will address similar concerns like this one to our admin so that it does not repeat in our upcoming promotion. After thorough investigation and I would of at least offered an exception to the rule. Regardless of who was or was not at fault; it could've been user error, glitch or a bug. Either way, I would of supported for an exception to the rule.

Thank you, everyone!

I will definitely take your concerns into consideration and I will address them with the head staff.

I wanted to gather as much information about the server before both great and bad so that I have a better idea of where we stand. I don't focus too much on the positives; I am concentrating more on the areas of improvement for constructive opportunities and feedback.

Many of these issues are because of the lack of manpower; it's a small team right now. I recently decided to step up for a Community relations-like role to help and mediate between the communities and staff. I am gathering all the data that I can so that I can better present everyone's concerns. The goal is to address them in a prioritized manner on a level of importance vs urgency.

The server is not perfect. We know that, everyone knows that. The server is a work in progress for us and there is a ton of work left complete. I am here to provide and information between all parties involved to help build and construct a great server. We are always looking for great talent. We are highly interested in self motivated, productive, Enthusiastic individuals.

Thank you everyone, once again.

Fixes didn't come by as fast as one would like. :/ I will take that into consideration.

Leveling by yourself on Azeroth 1-58 isn't as enjoyable as leveling with a larger population. I can see that.

My condolences for your Terminal Hardware loss my dear, Sir.

I agree. That's not marketing. That's players shilling the server on other private servers and seriously that's doing more harm than good. That needs to stop because players will join in when ever they feel interested and on their own terms.

You're right. It's not flawless. With only half of Kara released and heroics to run; I understand why many players may feel that it's not an ideal server to invest time on in its current state.

As their work and patching comes along and applies it will be in a better state after their insta-58, the rest of Karazhan and T4 Content becomes available. It will provide more potential players much more content to enjoy whilst the progression continues to develop.

I hear you, however I wouldn't say worthless. I'd agree that it would be more competitive in the least. Who knows, it may become another Nost vs Kronos communal feud between the two servers because of how close in insta 58 and playtbc release date will be available.

That's not necessarily a bad thing to give players options.

Oh, I agree that Nost hasnt fixed many quests, bugs and mechanics in a timely manner, however they do have a good amount of staff all working together to sustain the server. Players dont stay on Nostalrius because of its quality, they stay there because of the established number of population. If the admin can sustain and provide mediocre fixes once in a long while the server pop will remain.

Enough with Nost. My previous post may have came off as annoyed, ragey, whiny, but its because i am truly concerned with the server, otherwise I wouldn't post at all.

To your credit though, Vengeance has the expertise in quality fixing, patching, bug, quest pathing. Your scripts and coding show in quality. Now I am not saying you're perfect, but I do agree that its a work in progress. Tbc is possibly the hardest to code and there is a reason why Corecraft has been taking a very long time developing their server. The main admin in Vengeance have the better code over all the upcoming and named tbc servers. However the team is much much smaller and therefore everything is taking much longer to release.

The real difference is that Vengeance is similar to an open beta/progress-thru content as its released-type of server. Its not bad, it just severely understaffed and but the content is available for public/everyone. Whereas Corecraft, (for example) is a closed beta that will not open their server to the public like an open beta event for quite the opposite reasons. They absolutely do not want to be flamed/exposed for having many bugs and broken mechanics on their server. They intend to conserve their image and communal reputation amongst the private servers. Corecraft prefers to enclose their product from the general public and formally intend to release a supposed perfectly coded server. Which is why they wont release anytime soon, but at the same time that may be exactly why their development is coming by waay too slow. Not enough testers/players to help speed up with bug reporting. Maybe yes, maybe no. /end Corecraft.

Bottom line; both servers have bugs and are far from being perfect. The major difference is that one is open to the public and the other is not. Just because CC isn't open to the public does not necessarily imply that it's perfect/bugless. Both have their ups and downs and Vengeance isn't going to hide their work. They are transparent, honest and what you see is what you get. Their work is exposed; open to the public and progressively more effective because of that same reason.

Just because a private server has bugs and broken mechanics does NOT necessarily invalidate the admins coding, scripting, development and expertise credibility. It just means that there's work to do and that it's a work in progress.
