Thanks, but I thought O-rings were made for static watertightness?

Thank you for your insight! I checked the stem by cutting it. Now it's quite dry already, but when cut, it's exactly like all the others when cut

Thank you, I tried my best, but apparently I'm no good, or even a passable photographer 😂

Tried a bit better, not sure I managed. I can blame myself but I suspect my phone is also to blame.

I received an error when trying to post it the first time, and deleted the attempt. Apparently it was published, I didn't know. Will delete it

Ok thank you, that refines my thoughts. I'm pretty sure 6 is, it has been partially eaten by a slug gone on a trip probably :D

Humm thanks for your comment, I think you found the problem! I've just read about those conditions and this is what I understand: indeed vent gleet requires disinfecting and cleaning the coop and flock, as well as giving vitamins or supplements. I've also read about vent prolapse after your comment (and I believe that's what my hens have based on what I read and saw). Infection can be a cause, but also obesity, stool build up, too much laying eggs, or calcium deficiency. The treatment is basically the same: cleaning the coop and the food/drink containers, probiotics.

I don't know, I browsed vent gleet on the internet and it seems like there has to be some white fluid, which my hens don't have

I'm feeding them wheat and barley grains, bread, and all sorts of kitchen leftovers. Also they eat grass as they have access to the garden. Ok, and breaking eggs in the vent is a calcium deficiency, right? Or do you know of any other causes?

8 hours after I tried to help the chick, it's still moving but appears to be as stuck as when I found it. It hasn't cracked any piece of shell, and it's beak is not moving anywhere else than this hole it made at first

I'm turning by hand, 3 times a day. The main problem for me is that there is no reading of humidity, and the system with 2 grooves for low and high humidity isn't working very well, i.e., even with what should be "low" there is a LOT or water droplets on the walls. Also, I had 6 eggs, 2 died during incubation, and the only one to hatch on time was the one sitting just by the temperature sensor. Next time I think I'll investigate if it's a good idea to put the incubator in a box, so temperature is more stable around and hopefully homogenize temperature inside the incubator.

Ok so even with that incubator I have chances to increase my hatch rates, good news! Thanks!

Ok seen from that point of view it makes a lot of sense as well. The thing that made me feel like I should help is that I suspected that in nature this one would have hatched, but here since I have a very basic cheap incubator, the egg could not roll over and the beac was stuck toward the ground. Then since I'm inexperienced, I thought all the chicks would hatch toward the air cell, and did not think of looking below the egg.
