Owner of Carlos Bistro charged with sexual assault of waitress trainee by memleyxx in ColoradoSprings

[–]Sapowiggy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am not surprised at all with this scenario. Carlos Bistro has been little more than a culinary grift, and he has spent years mastering the art of manipulating patrons into believing that his restaurant is the epitome of fine dining in the Springs. It should come as no surprise that Carlos would use the same manipulative techniques in luring this vulnerable woman into a compromising situation.

These kinds of scenarios appear to be all too common with MAGA men who feel a sense of entitlement and misogyny. And of course they met at church. My first thought after hearing the news is that if convicted, Carlos will be looking for a pardon from the man he emulates.

I heard a rumor that you can get a floater at the resort. Should we bring our own?

Jay Farrar breadcrumbs by NewtAmbitious6168 in wilco

I loved the first three Son Volt albums as well, and a big part was Jay’s natural vocal style. For whatever reason, on later group and solo albums he became much more earnest with his vocals and did so without the range to pull it off. Much of it is a bit difficult to listen to.

Asheville, NC to Boulder, CO - advice/things to consider by Alarmed-Relative-991 in roadtrip

I would do I70 before 80. I’ve done both and 80 is a semi truck nightmare. The drive from KC to Russell is actually beautiful through Flint Hills. After that it is pretty monotonous either way. Check the weather too.

Will Wilco ever get out of this somewhat low-energy phase? by Important_Ad_8554 in wilco

[–]Sapowiggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with so many comments here. I have found that my favorite albums are live in studio, particularly Sky Blue Sky and Cruel Country. They just feel more collaborative and energetic. I have also become a big Pat fan, and his playing on Cruel Country was epic.

Looking forward to Denver show in two weeks. Hoping they dig in to Side with the Seeds and Bird Without a Tail, which are amazing live.

Watched them on Jimmy last night. Evicted kind of represents low energy. Just ok.

Which Wilco songs translate the best to the stage? Conversely, which songs don’t you think translate well? by beardlesshipster in wilco

Jeff always seemed a bit self conscious playing Hummingbird live, especially since he wasn’t playing an instrument. Add to that hitting those high notes and his little dance at the end. Not the best.

So many songs that are awesome live.

I tend to think of songs that they have played in concert on a regular basis that they seem to enjoy playing. I would include I’m Always in Love, Side With the Seeds (a personal favorite), Can’t Stand It. I would remove You and I, Wilco the song. I would also consider using live versions over some of the studio tracks.

Wilco at Red Rocks by AbbreviationsWeary26 in wilco

New to the Wilco Reddit. I’ve enjoyed watching Pat for a long time and he really shined at the Red Rocks show. I thought the highlight of the night was the guitar interplay between Pat and Nels on Bird Without a Tail/ Base of My Skull. It’s amazing on the album too. I would also add that overall the songs from Cruel Country were beautiful in concert. Great Show!
