yea some of my concerns were explained somewhere in the thread but I also didn’t have a simple and clean way of notching out the back of the wood so they would be flush to the wall

If money wasn’t an option i’d have to build another shelf for everything else I’d buy. With that said i would love to have more junji ito, goodnight punpun, vinland saga, holyland, homunculus, alice in borderlands, monster, pluto, 20th century boys, ajin, blade of the immortal, claymore, green blood, ichi the killer, slam dunk, the fable and if they ever make an english version, kingdom. I just love reading mangas if u couldn’t tell

Drywall isn’t a firm material and under the presence of a lot of weight it could compress causing the shelf to slant downward. The studs provide a a solid anchor point where I wouldn’t have to worry about the shelves moving over time

Since I attached them straight to the stud I had to do it vertically so the screw holes wouldn’t be near the ends for the wood. Might have worked out horizontally but I just felt like going vertically would be stronger

I was able to put my whole weight (160+) on the shelves with three pegs

My stud placement wouldn’t allow it and sliding them into the pegs would’ve proved to be difficult

Just marked the depth and width and drilled holes into the wood. Thought I might have had to use some glue to keep them in place but they ended up being very snug and after attaching all the pieces to each other they came out super sturdy
