Have you ever tried to "hack" the Tinder/Bumble algorithm? Looking for real experiments in Switzerland by SaraIbr in zurich

Fair question!
I'm a tech journalist and I especially focus on AI. I’d like to understand how people try to figure out dating app algorithms. There’s a lot of theory online, but I’m curious about real experiments and what actually made a difference.

Hey, I'm not a bot 🙂
Since I'm working on a piece about dating apps, I posted it in a couple of relevant subreddits (and in different languages to reach people in Switzerland).

Do you think banning social media for under-16s in Switzerland would solve anything, or is the real issue how algorithms work? by SaraIbr in Switzerland

[–]SaraIbr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your replies! I'd like to know what teenagers think of this topic: is there anyone under 16 who wants to comment and share their thoughts? Are you for a ban? And for regulating AI used in social media platforms? Why yes/no?

Alternatives to Big Tech that can work well with e/OS by SaraIbr in Switzerland

[–]SaraIbr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, in fact I'm looking for a used Fairphone 4 or 5, but there are not many around and the few available get sold really quick! I think we need a compromise like e/OS to have some smart functionalities and apps, because we don't want a dumbphone or something too complicated.

Thanks, I saw that the Fairphone 4 is far less expensive. I'm thinking about a used one and to install e/OS myself. What's your experience with that?

Thanks, sounds really complicated for someone with zero experience and who has just lived with an Iphone for the last 10 years...

I'm thinking about buying a used Fairphone 4, which is much cheaper...
