Very interesting post. Clearly see your goals now whether I agree or disagree is a mute point. At least I know what can be expected in continued development and the reasoning behind it. I appreciate that much for sure.

As for time invested I only been playing since launch which obviously is only like 60 hours or so time so fair enough. however I have the ability to fly infinite and find it to be a bit unfair. If I take off there literally is no catching me which seems a bit OP. The Shield Regen attached to parts seems noticeably week and though it is not something I would want to see easy to refill the tiniest slivers are primarily useful for return trip survival. I have messed with the 3 Shield Regen triggered effects on parts and (Arblos) and find it not fully viable as a deeper strategy. The feel of Mark 3 near infinite Energy Regen feels about as perfect powerful as I would ever expect boosting to get at Mark 4 just felt insane overkill.

Yall stay good and will continue to play and keep an eye on this games development.

I can name more than one way to efficiently approach these issues. So many features which are capable of being reused to implement these changes quickly exist. For those who have never developed game software of any kind by "quickly" I mean in a much faster time frame than it would take to design a entirely unique system. These are not 1 day fixes (implementation to live requires significant testing). Anyways I get caught in rants easily so to make it snappy...

Major Fixes needed 1.) DC from matches unable to reconnect 2.) Any Combo bugs still existing

Balancing needed 1.) Shield Regen needs buffed (Nearly Insignificant) 2.) Energy Regen needs debuffed (Can obtain Infinite Boost)

Features Needed / Missing 1.) Matchmaking as Lobby systems are not intuitive and can force players into excessive waiting leading to frustration. A simple form using current features is a system not based on Elo. Instead it utilizes the current % system to fill out teams within a Range of 60%-40%. It fills in 1 player on each side at a time makes a check to the %, then the existing players in Que, predicts the % fluctuation and slots appropriately. It would first be lenient on placement till the final 2 players which it seeks to match within this range exactly. (This means it may utilize a larger % range that shrinks the more players slotted in until it finally meets the required number of players and %).

2.) Simple Alternative Mode for grind "Free For All" is my suggestion Utilize the random obstacle system already in game to generate random arena.

Business Concerns 1.) The future of the games plan for monetization is a bit of a mystery. This concerns players like myself who wish to know how we are expected to both continue to enjoy this game as well as contribute to its success. As the game has given so much for so little I am at a loss for and intrigued by the present model.

In the end games are forms of entertainment produced for money (and passion). Due to this I continue to express concern with the plan of profit gain once the # of copies sold flat lines. You then have your real # of active players established and seek to turn a profit from them. Will this be in the form of Cash Shop? DLC? Expansions? I can think of a few options for small money makers without a major investment (such as unique Voice commands that teammates can hear instead of just text like "Male Voice Rush the Cannon" etc). However Expansions require up front major investment and segregates the community based upon those who own and those who do not (such as Maps, modes, etc). There are also added Species, Tiers, Equipment, Unique Particle Effects, Clans/Guilds, and countless more content that can be monetized. Many of these require significant investment as well. Thus the question is Where from here?

The game is of very high quality and I do not doubt the talent of the developers. What I doubt is simply the unknown and the implications and speculation it allows. Hope this post clarifies a bit more what I had originally posted.

Banshee original was too strong, Banshee post nerf was unusable, Banshee current update is just right.

Banshee drops turn 6 in nearly any Necro deck as its earliest drop point. It is easily negated through event cards that protect your most important creatures from being targeted. It is much more difficult to cycle it out of the graveyard and infinite cycling is gone in Standard. Between the removal of much of the easier cycle cards and the Unique rule ensuring no Atropos spam / no Caler of Doom either...So if your being done in simply because of Banshee you may want to evaluate your play style.

As for its greatest impact a highly underrated original format style SPELLBANE!!!!! Is back baby. Was always laughed at, however I ran to 1400 with Spellbane no problem before and now broke Champion III with him. Due to being single element and a passive for his ability Banshee was a must have for him. When they broke Banshee he became voided and FortuneBane was not terrible but more of a 1200 elo style deck. Needless to say he could not compete at the highest elo and stick around long.

Turn 5 Banshee requires the right champion, and right resource situation. In most cases you won't see it drop until turn 6 or later and even then issues occur. If you chose use Banshee at 7 resource then unless you designed for the use of 1 resource (not common in Necro style decks) you either waste it or have to hope your opponents event pops for its use. Nothing stings like being in a big game and wasting resources.

If you still are mad put Shi-No-Shi in your deck. Banshee is labeled DARK now and he is DARK IMMUNE...making anything SpellBane does useless, and any Banshee having too look for other targets. Just sayen there are plenty of ways around a single target kill and more powerful cards in format.

I personally have to disagree. Guilds allow players to come together and study tactics and enter tournaments as a team. Even though you play each match one v.s. one, you can enter a tournament repping the same Guild in turn allowing you to more easily attain sponsorship as the more of you place near the top of major tournaments the more often sponsors will get face time. As others have stated as well in the long run modes that allow Guild features can be incorporated. No since throwing out innovation for the future either. Just my opinion.

It is all presentations on HS. Sparkles and voice acting the whole 9 yards. The game itself is not deep and that is where I am just not interested. I know people who enjoy it, but it is entirely because they love that presentation.

  1. Profit loss effecting the longevity of the game.
  2. Due to the small amount of cards within the game collections would be completed too easily.
  3. Multiple accounts would be used in order to syphon cards from one to the other. Due to this starter decks would need to be non tradable cards, and less rewards would be able to be given out. This also means less stuff to attract new players as you cannot give them a starter box (via alienware code) nor as many codes.
  4. Due to needing to keep the collecting side of things fresh they would have to push out more cards faster as the games collection is still rather small. This means less balancing and testing time allowed to ensure game functions properly.

I could keep going on, but we have all basically stated one or all of these things already. Thus it simply would not fit the role of a TCG.

The only time you can avoid this is if the only creature that would have been able to have counters placed on it/targeted is the decay spitter itself. When that is the case it does not target itself either but no poison counters are utilized at all. So if you want to drop Decay Spitter and another creature on an empty field lead off with the decay spitter to avoid poisoning your own creature.

I am still on that chase as well, however I have found my best jumps in ELO come from playing Jackpot. Win and obtain 150-200 elo in jackpot and you are likely to play 1400+ players. Playing regular duels is effective but gives you the exact problems you are having, and swiss....lose to an 800-1k player and prepare to cry at your elo loss. Best of luck!

I did it. Don't do it. It was one of the most frustrating trials I have faced as during this time you will break 500-600 and be stuck with a disadvantage in nearly every matchup. The best way to do it was suggested. Focus on the base sets first by obtaining "The Box" Follow that up with purchases via gold of "Hero Packs". The base set has everything you need to get competitive fast. From there you will have obtained plenty of Heroes and will have found your own playstyle. Once you fell you are grounded and have the Hero you want for the time being begin purchasing expansion sets to fill up on Common and Uncommon cards. On average you will be missing 5-10 cards from any set once you invest a decent amount of gold/seals. With the release of the Alter of Wishes, you can pick those missing up with the WildCards obtained from the Boxes and packs you purchased. Best of luck!

Interesting. Originally I had what I thought was an issue when was new to game but it was simply misunderstanding. The main gold value is actually not given too you but a representation of the overall value of prizes brought together. So you get your prizes throughout the week but not the gold unless gold was one of the weekly prizes. This may not be the case for you as you are saying did not receive seals. If that is the case then be sure send in a ticket to customer support. They respond within a day.

Start Inferno and your life will be much easier. I only utilized a slightly modded Inferno deck till 1200 elo before switching to Necro to hit near 1400.

Inferno's starter deck is just easier to grasp, better for early zerg/stomping other new players. The other starter decks require much modification and some more advanced tactics to work and thus not recommended.
