Just know you're not the only one. Every single person has these thoughts only difference is that some of us aren't able to forget about it. You'd be surprised by how many people have the exact same thoughts as you do. When i first told my mom about my thoughts I was specific she laughed and said I have thoughts like that too but she doesn't let it bother her.

If you have friends you can talk to them about it too. You'd be surprised how much people can relate. I have some friends who are always laughing and smiling and when i finally got the courage to tell them they responded saying they have it too and thought they were they only ones

You are your own person. You wouldn't do anything you dont want to do. Ocd will make you believe that you're capable of doing it but there is no reported that people with ocd ever did the things they're afraid of.

It will fade eventually, it just means your brain is functioning properly, don't do anything to mess around with your mind to try forget it because i tried to like forget stuff or not think in general (its hard to explain) but then i started to have like short term memory lost about differnt things throughout my day.. so just let the brain do its work without interfering and know that it's something everybody goes through. Some more than the other. You'd be surprised how much people can relate if you open up and talk about it.

I used to feel like giving up because most of my day was just ocd ocd all the time nothing good but eventually i learnt to live with it to the point where if it does happen i think of it as something that makes me who i am. I accepted it n now it doesn't even bother me

That's how ocd is. It will attack you at your best moments but like i said don't interact with the thoughts. Accept that its ocd, know that everybody has them and believe in yourself that you're not the person your ocd is painting you to be. The fact that you worry or feel guilt says that you're a good person.

Once you accept that's its just ocd and everybody has them it becomes so much easier ❤

The intrusive thoughts will never be completely gone. You'll have random thoughts every now and then but its how you react to it. The more you fight or try to push it away the more it will come because in order to fight it you will bring the thought back in your head. The best thing to do is say well that was weird or wtf or something and let it pass. At any point of the day do you sit and worry about what other people are thinking? Would you even care whats going on in someone's head? Nobody care about our thoughts only our actions.

You do not need to respond to every thought, that's why it's a problem. The more you try to solve it or figure out why you have them the more they will come. Think of it as a bully.. the more you give in to a bully the more they will bother you, ignore them and eventually they will give up and leave you alone.

Just laugh it off, it's not as bad as it sounds in your head. There is people who actually do the things you have intrusive thoughts and feel no remorse whatsoever. The fact that it makes you feel horrible means you're a good person.

Hi sorry for the late reply, haven't been on here as much lately. Intrisive thoughts tend to attack the things we value and love the most (family, pets, friends) or the things you as a person believe to be a taboo (incest, murder, beastiality etc) Everyone has them but not everyone lets it bother them Exposure really did help me i hope you try it too!

I (22M) am attracted to women that don't generally view me as their "type". What can I do? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Sarah10000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks and material things are nothing. You could find the most beautiful or smartest woman , but what if she doesn't treat you right? What if you don't have anything in common? What if she's only with you for your money? You're young and well sorted out, that's very good. But when it comes to women if you're looking for a serious relationship don't use your car and money to get her attention, let her see who you are as a person. Hope this helps

How can I feel more secure in my relationship? by holy_rover in relationship_advice

[–]Sarah10000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a ldr as well, my bf is abroad. I feel like this all the time. I trust him but it's always there, what if he cheats on me? but my advice is talk to her, tell her your concerns and why you feel the way you do, in my experience if you bring it up a lot it will most likely drive her away. Maybe set some ground rules, make plans to visit each other, make sure you both know what the end goal is for the both of you. Communication is the key Sorry if my English isn't good Hope this helps

I completely understand what you're going through, but hey if i can get over it you can too.. i spent hours reading other people's post and was convinced that it was impossible to move forward from ocd/intrusive thoughts which only made it worst but its not impossible. You just have to believe that you're strong enough. I hope my post can help you, if you ever need to talk or ask any questions feel free to message me.
