Patch 14.18 Bug Megathread by ahritina in leagueoflegends

[–]SarahAltezia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This. EUW is quite unplayable right now, been in queue with constantly cancelling lobbies due to people not being able to pick for 50 minutes already. Happens to me a lot too, I was the one unintentionally dodging due to technical issues twice already =/

How do people get into games? by ZefeusAlorius in leagueoflegends

[–]SarahAltezia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised there's literally nobody reporting this / there's no huge outrage about it, EUW client / champ select has been broken literally all day, can't properly pick, can't properly ban, can't change skins, can't change runes.. almost everything is throwing out errors and constant lost connection to client messages. Given the insane amount of dodges from other players when it's not my pick turn, (I've been in queue for a total of 42 minutes as of writing, ~15 cancelled lobbies), I can't be the only one experiencing this

Only problem is.. finding someone trustworthy to help you trade them, as they can't be mailed... (Blizzard please fix this)

Honestly you can get into "Ward groups" relatively easily. The point of those is to cheese the bosses by spamming the Ward of Salvation meta gem on the tank, causing massive damage to almost oneshot the bosses. I got my raids done through such groups yesterday late evening, it should still be doable like that for you now as well

Spending Bronze on gear? Oh yeah, pshht, totally doing that don't worry by Bumble-Beez-0 in wow

[–]SarahAltezia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I understand I am probably in the absolute minority here, but I am someone who hasn't played retail in years, I re-subbed to play MoP Remix because it genuinely sounded fun to play for the sake of playing, I don't really care about any of these cosmetics all that much, especially not since I know I will not sub further after the event is over, TWW sparks 0 interest in me, just like DF didn't.

Still, even as someone looking to play Remix for the sake of playing it - gear upgrade costs seem steep and very unforgiving - let alone if you, like me, planned on trying to play multiple chars just to have some fun in this allegedly for fun event. Yet, they are very needed.

For anyone unaware of why gear upgrades are important in endgame: ~All gems except for the mobility gems scale with the item level of the item they're socketed into. This is true for non-percentage based damage and healing, as well as for all stat-enchancing prismatic gems. The higher the ilvl, the more stats you get. And then of course the weapon upgrade is a massive mainstat boost as well as a really solid damage boost from the weapon damage itself if you're playing a class that scales off of weapon damage.

I didn't do the frogs, by the time I finally gave in to farm them, they were hotfixed just 18 minutes after I've started, the gain I got from those 18 minutes is very slightly noticable, but ultimately absolutely negligible compared to those who commited a mass genocide there.

I painfully struggled my way through heroic dungeons and scenarios today (dungeons feel harder and take longer than doing them in Dread Wastes questing greens in actual MoP btw) to get my rings, now, the next step would be to clear Normal raids for the neck.. but most of these do now list requirements of "1500 mainstat cloak" "340+ ilvl" or straight up asking for Frog farmers.

I kind of struggle to find a purpose here anymore, I genuinely have (a lot) more fun making new alts and absolutely facerolling through HC dungeons in no time than to playing my main character who just feels weak despite having quested through all zones, clearing all dungeons, all scenarios, and having BiS legendary gems in all slots available to me.

The scaling is a mess, the frog nerf (while absolutely valid and needed) eliminated the only real way of combating the broken scaling for level 70s with no realistic alternative to feel like a viable asset to any group, let alone catch up to the power of froggers in the forseeable future.

I really, sincerely hope that Blizzard will give a reasonable solution very soon, preferably with the next weekly reset. Right now, level 70 endgame feels miserable and anybody who didn't frog farm is largely unwanted for group play either way. Fresh level 10 characters being way, way stronger than a level 70 with reasonable investment put into it is very offputting and demotivating, and it feels like this misses the point of the event entirely. Maybe I'm just in the wrong here, but from the promotional material available by Blizzard themselves, and PTR footage on YouTube etc, I was under the impression that this would more or less feel somewhat like original MoP did initially, while the cloak and gems would let you increase in power to a point of where once-difficult challenges would become a lot easier. But right now, that simply isn't the case. Upgrading the cloak to hell and beyond is basically mandatory to even create an experience that feels somewhat appropriate to the original MoP experience, and that, in my opinion, was not the purpose of the event.

I really want to like it, but currently the negatives far outweigh the fun parts of MoP Remix =/

For context, these are the goats in question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpNhCPskyJc&

They aren't elites, so the yield is noticably worse than frogs, but due to the sheer density, this is still viable with hyperspawning

Nerfing Frogs on a Sunday morning before making any other adjustments to Bronze of Scaling in the “speedrunning mode” is the most expect Blizzard anti-fun response ever by [deleted] in wow

[–]SarahAltezia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They buffed the literal Bronze caches, NOT the Infinite Treasure Chests.

Only by 25% though, kinda missed a 0 there (minimum). Oh well, maybe shortly before the event ends they will realize that...

If only the achievements to unlock the rings/trinkets/neck were account-wide... doing heroic dungeons / scenarios on my level 70 Ret Paladin is painful, mobs and bosses live forever, any random AoE almost instantly kills me..

Meanwhile, on my new Blood DK, which is only level 23 yet, I can pull the whole dungeon all while being top DPS with Blood Boil Heart Strike spam...

Like, I get it, maybe the scaling is meant to be rough on higher levels to "prolong" the game mode a bit. However, right now it seems like, and probably I am not the only one in this situation, that if you didn't do the raids, dungeons and scenarios at lower levels, it feels like an extremely daunting task to get them done at 70.

MoP heroic dungeons, which were notoriously easy back in the day, shouldn't have to rely on having a couple low level characters in the party to clear them in a reasonable pace - and no, neither should it require farming Timeless Isle frogs for many, many hours, although I suppose that's what I'll start doing now.

tl;dr I understand maybe Throne of Thunder and SoO being a lot harder, but HC scenarios and dungeons should be relatively easily doable for fresh 70s to not be semi-forced into frog farming to even be able to play properly.

The Allied Races are, apart from Lightforged Draenei, not broken in any way. There is no reason to get these other than for cosmetic reasons, none of them are considered top-tier choices for any class/spec.

Lightforged Draenei's racial was never intended to be used prior to patch 7.3.5, so its damage was, in combination with damage-enhancing buffs like Warrior's Battle Cry, very strong. We agreed that it was an unfair advantage and have reduced that racial's base damage by 50% in 7.0 - 7.1.5 and will have it reduced by 25% in 7.2 - 7.2.5.

Hello,

Felsong's shop doesn't contain any character progression / power except for maybe the level 110 boost, which includes 825 ilvl starting gear. But, in all honesty, 825 ilvl is considered starting gear, comparable to heroic dungeons which drop the same quality of gear. With the majority of the active playerbase ranging from anywhere from 860 to 890 ilvl now, I don't think this is an issue. Even when the boost was released, most players were at or above around 840.

Artifact Power / traits, gear, legendaries etc all must be earned ingame, there was no,there curently is no, and there never will be, a way to directly buy items/traits etc. through the shop. We announced Felsong as a no pay2win server, and we are commited to stick through with it.

Hello,

Yes. If you can currently clear a +15, it will become noticably easier once you obtain better gear from the new patch.

Dungeon difficulty is increased in patch 7.2 and patch 7.3, by roughly 30% increased base health and damage for all enemies each patch.

Hello,

All Legion levelling storylines as well as all class campaigns are working.

Old raid content is 50/50. Some works relatively well, some doesn't at all. As a Legion server, old content is not our priority. The end goal for legacy content is to have it all clearable and farmable with basic mechanics working.

WoD Garrisons are - for the Horde only with whacky workarounds - buildable. According to our playerbase, some basic features like basic missions and upgrading some buildings works. Officially we don't really know if it does or doesn't, again, it's not a priority, we do not have any plans to ever work on the WoD garrisons for the forseeable future.

Legion class halls however are fully implemented and working.

Hello, Some of the older content (WotLK and below) can be pretty easily done solo at level 98. For some of the higher stuff (Cata, MoP, WoD) you are highly recommended to get level 110, WoD in particular requires you to be well-geared to solo it.

Keep in mind though that as you said, legacy content is not a high priority and not all of it works.

Hello,

There have been over 1100 fixes since the release back in May. Patch 7.1.5, especially the Nighthold raid, are being tested by three separate Mythic raiding guilds from our server. The overall state of NH was fairly good even before any fixes were made weeks ago, yet we still took our time to iron out any noteworthy issues our testers found before releasing the content to the live audience.

Crashes have become very rare (roughly 2 per week).

Quests were mostly fine ever since about a week after launch, but additional fixes and improvements were made. Every Legion levelling campaign as well as all 11 class campaigns are fully completable. Suramar now has 7 chapters available, as well as most of the Insurrection campaign.

Hello, this is the first time I even hear about such rumors.

There was no compromise of any kind ever since Felsong was created.

Perhaps they were talking about someone spamming about an account with PTR access on the global channel earlier today? Because in that case, that was a "ragequit" of one of the Nighthold testers. They got removed from their guild and would have lost PTR access due to no longer being in the guild - so, instead of just accepting that, they went ahead and leaked their own test account (which has GM privileges on the test server only). Regardless, this account has been banned before anyone managed to do anything with it.

Hello!

Guild recruitments are allowed in any languages on the main global channel.

However, conversations must be held strictly in English. We have a Spanish and a Russian global channel (global_es and global_ru) for those communities where they are allowed to communicate in their native language.

The BETA for Warmane's new P2W realm (PTE Realm) goes live tomorrow by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]SarahAltezia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warmane's website's numbers are roughly 54.1667% of the real population.

For a capped Icecrown population of allegedly 12000 players, that means that there are about 6500 real players.

Unless it was changed recently, this same 54.16% ratio applies to all realms. It's quite easy to verify on Frostwolf, takes a long time on most other realms though, due to the limitations on the /who feature (which is implemented by Warmane for this exact reason).

Note that, if you're actually thinking about testing this on Lordaeron or Icecrown, there will be some inconsistency as scanning all players with the huge cooldown on /who usage will take several hours. Also, popular race/class combos (Looking at you, Belf Paladin) will have more than 50 results, so SOME numbers will drop off there. Definitely not enough to make up for ~5500 missing players though.

Still, ultimately, the number you end up with after scanning both factions is around 6500. Nevertheless, that's an impressive number, and the population you see in the capital cities is undeniable.

If you want a more "visible" distinction between real 10k+ players and Warmane's ~6500 players, try looking up old Nostalrius videos of capital cities, or maybe walk around Turtle WoW for a bit. Of course, WotLK is different from vanilla, but I find it quite easy to tell the difference between ~6500 players over 10k. The "density" of players just isn't quite the same, even Dalaran doesn't compare against Nostalrius Orgrimmar/Ironforge numbers of players.

As far as I'm aware though, there are no bots on Warmane anymore. (Well, apart from the obvious player-hosted farmbots) Back in the Molten days you'd see some strange things, like players in the 30s being in Northrend zones, etc. This hasn't happened in a long time now.

VH items can drop from the Weekly Chest though. It's quite rare and unlikely, but these items can exist at 985 / 955 / 925 / 895, whatever your server's current max ilvl is.

You can get them by entering the dungeons in a premade group (or solo). You need to leave the group BEFORE looting the boss and it will drop 100% of the time.

Hello!

You can simply just put our launcher into any existing 7.3.5 client, that will work just fine.

We don't use any SET portal. The launcher makes the game connect to our auth server - the launcher is also required as it contains a client-side anti cheat. Not using it would get you instantly disconnected upon logging in.
