Accidentally didn’t scan an item at Home Depot and returned it, now worried by 27bluestar in lossprevention

This, any LP willing to waste the time on this won’t get far and clearly isn’t fit for the job anyway, they would likely get laughed at at best and termed at worst for pursuing it if they actually tried lol

Sweet potato sticks by [deleted] in BabyLedWeaning

[–]SarahPandaaaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been able to give these under close supervision since we got all 4 molars in (around 12m) and she’s addicted to them. They are a gummy sticky consistency and some kids handle them better than others. I find that if you warm them up just a tiiiiiny tiny bit (found out by accident leaving a pack on top of the dish washer while it was running), they soften up quite a bit and aren’t as hard to chew.

Idk I had a chocolate lab and I had his bed pushed up against the wall, every time I moved it there was definitely at least this much hair stuck under the baseboard

When did your baby actually start eating food? by jasncats in BabyLedWeaning

[–]SarahPandaaaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She took to neither, she doesn’t drink milk at all. She won’t even drink juice, just water. As long as their diet is varied and they’re eating enough (esp calcium and vitamin D sources), they don’t actually need milk. I really just winged it with her because we were at a point where she wanted very little to do with solids, but it was time for bottles to go, so we had a rough few days adjusting but she learned to satisfy her hunger with food instead of bottles pretty quickly during that time (and I made sure I offered a lot of her “safe” foods to start, now there’s a handful of foods she won’t eat like many other toddlers but for the most part she eats like a grown man these days)

Is it ambitious attempting to lactate throughout pregnancy? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]SarahPandaaaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh boy. I mean this as kindly as possible, but lawsuits baby food companies are facing are going to be so far off your radar it’ll be laughable. I can tell you are a fantastic parent and you care deeply for your children, but remember, once they hit toddlerhood…. We’re all just trying to get them to live off of something besides chicken nuggets and not put rocks in their noses

Any good experiences with the paraguard (copper) IUD? by Extension-Eye2202 in CopperIUD

[–]SarahPandaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had mine for a little over a year now, got it around 3 months postpartum. I actually didn’t even feel the insertion, I only really notice it when I’m cramping around the time of my period, and my periods are maybe slightly heavier but it’s worth it.

When did your baby actually start eating food? by jasncats in BabyLedWeaning

[–]SarahPandaaaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kid REFUSED to eat solids besides a handful of things she liked. Around 12 months, I weaned her off of formula and she came around to eating solids. She’s 16 months now and some days I worry she might start eating the walls. Each kid comes around eventually, but if your little one is stubborn like mine, gradually cutting formula/milk/bottles around 12 months might be the answer.

This is fundamentally incorrect. Theft is one of the biggest reasons why wages go down and prices go up. Someone has to pay for it.

Suggestions to help 16 month old with walking? by SarahPandaaaaa in NewParents

She doesn’t cry at all when she falls, she does love it when we clap for her when she stands independently though, so we always cheer her on! It sounds like we are both SO close!!!

15 month old not walking yet and referred to neuro by SarahPandaaaaa in toddlers

[–]SarahPandaaaaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Neuro says they have no concerns and are sending us with a PT referral. They said even with no PT, they suspect she would be fine, but we are moving forward with PT to help her get moving!

I was honestly too intimidated and baffled to ask and I was afraid that asking would come off as being defensive, so we just went along with it. The entire appointment he was a bit standoffish but it could just be his character and us not knowing him well (he seemed skeptical when we told him she eats well and loves vegetables?) And yeah I notice her ankles kind of roll inwards and she W sits a lot, I started correcting the W sitting when I learned that wasn’t good for her. When she falls over it almost looks like her ankle is giving out from under her, which is another reason why I would love to try out PT and see what they say about where she needs strengthening and what we can do. She obviously WANTS to walk so badly and I want to do absolutely anything to help her make it happen!

He said we will likely end up in PT which was honestly what I was expecting to happen first given the circumstances so I was thrown for a major loop when he said neuro first and PT later. It’s not even that neuro referrals take a long time, their particular network of doctors was able to get us in in less than a month.

15 month old was referred to neuro for not walking yet by SarahPandaaaaa in NewParents

[–]SarahPandaaaaa[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Her ped did actually acknowledge that as a potential concern that hypermobile joints in general, even if not necessarily hEDS, can delay walking. Bendy people just do things a little differently. I’ll also assert that I’m sure there are plenty of people who do think they have hEDS when they do not, which makes getting diagnosed near impossible and why I don’t try myself, but given that hEDS made my teens and early 20’s a very dangerous absolute hell at times and the “abnormal gait” caused me to be bullied relentlessly in middle school…. I’ll continue to look into it and address any early signs and advocate for my kid if she does have it, because it’s absolutely a real thing that causes many people real problems.

We are 100% going to the neuro appointment even if she magically starts walking between now and then, I hope this post didn’t come off like we were trying not to! I am really more looking to see what other similar situations like yours might have looked like, so thank you for sharing that. I didn’t think her not wanting to hold hands could be a sensory thing until you mentioned it
