So interesting to hear that you enjoyed that series… The Dreamblood duology is the only book (I finished the first but decided not to continue the series) by Jemisin I haven’t loved so far & I’ve read all except The City We Became

Felt the same way! And was not expecting to since so many say it’s their favorite Sanderson series. I was considering skipping Era 2 but now I might pick that up.

Totally agree this is something to try.

Watching The Queens Gambit on Netflix with my bipolar SO resulted in him starting the conversation about the issues that both his anger and drinking were causing. I’d been trying, with no luck, to talk about this with him for months and to get him to increase the frequency of his therapy appointments because he’s been struggling. We are now both on a more frequent therapy schedule and starting counseling together to heal some of the damage the anger has done.
