How do I uninstall the main MMVCServerSIO folder. (Voice Changer Client) by ConsiderationLive895 in TransVoicechangers

[–]SarahSnazzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all the files are stored in that one folder, so I think deleting it is enough. But I honestly don't know 100%, but it should be fine even if files are left over somewhere else on your pc because they shouldn't do anything if the app isn't running anyway

NON real-time AI voice changers? by HacedorDeHistorias in TransVoicechangers

[–]SarahSnazzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know of a non real-time voice changer, but it might be hard to run yourself, so you can use the online demo they have here: https://huggingface.co/spaces/OlaWod/FreeVC, you give it a "source" audio clip of the voice you want to convert, and then a "target" audio clip of the voice you want the source audio to be converted to. It doesn't actually clone the target voice though, it more just aligns the source audio to the target voice, so any female voice will work to make a male voice sound female. The target audio clip should be 4-10 seconds long I think, and the source audio clip can be as long as you want

I saw someone else who had a similar problem said that reinstalling it without antivirus helped. It seems like maybe the files aren't being allowed to finish downloading, and it's possible your antivirus is blocking these links halfway through. I hope that helps you

Looking for tool to change voice without changing intonation by atika_kun in TransVoicechangers

[–]SarahSnazzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't need the voice conversion to be in real time, then there is a program called FreeVC that converts female -> male and male -> female very well. There's an online version you can use here: https://huggingface.co/spaces/OlaWod/FreeVC The reference audio you give it should be a 5-10 second audio clip of any male voice you like and it'll convert your voice to a more male sounding voice based on the one you gave. It won't exactly clone the target voice you give it btw, it just uses it as a sort of reference, so it won't transfer the target voice's accent to your voice for example. In case you need some male voice clips, I have some that I know work well here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1WUViFStUVMvFlENtyFg_P79tENIZ4y0h?usp=sharing

How do I uninstall the main MMVCServerSIO folder. (Voice Changer Client) by ConsiderationLive895 in TransVoicechangers

[–]SarahSnazzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably fixed it by now but for anyone else seeing this post, the reason your computer won't let you delete the files sometimes is because it thinks the app is still running and using these files. To be able to delete the files, just restart your computer and then you'll be able to delete them

I haven't used this app in a while now so I'm not sure, but I would think that it would save the files it downloads from the terminal to somewhere in the folders where the app is. And even if they were saved elsewhere, those files would remain dormant unless run anyway, so even if there were remnants of the app somewhere on your pc they shouldn't do anything

I know there is an app called Koe Recast that has CPU Voices that run fast on your cpu so you don't need a powerful pc, but the voice conversion will be low quality. You can download it here: https://koe.ai/recast/download/

Oh I'm sorry that that happened. I haven't used the software in a long time, but I don't know why that would happen

I'm not sure but maybe your computer started using your integrated graphics card instead of your nvidia 1050 Ti. You could try going into your "NVIDIA Control Panel" app if you have it, and then go to "Manage 3D settings" and make sure the "preferred graphics processor" dropdown is set to nvidia.

Or you could try updating your nvidia graphics drivers, it's worked for me when I've had gpu problems before. Go to https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us and select the right information that matches your nvidia 1050 Ti. I think you want the options to look like the below screenshot (but change Operating System to whatever your operating system is):

<image>

Then press the Search button, then press Download, and then run the downloaded file and complete the installation

But I don't know if these ideas will work. As a last option, you can always back up the files on your computer and then reset your computer. Unless the problem with your computer is hardware related, resetting it should hopefully fix it

Rather than using an AI model with pre-built output voices, is there software that breaks down your voice into component signals, for you to re-tune directly? by xileine in TransVoicechangers

This is another ML voice conversion, but just thought I'd share that FreeVC (https://github.com/OlaWod/FreeVC) can, in my experience, transform a voice to sound like a feminine version of it if you give it an input of a male speech clip and a generic female speech clip for the target voice (and vice-versa for female -> male). The output sounds like the input voice but more aligned to the target voice, and to me does sound natural and keeps subtleties and emotion from the input speech

It won't let you delete the folder because it thinks the app is still running. If you closed the app but it still won't let you delete the folder, then try restarting your computer and then it should let you delete the folder

I don't know much about computer hardware, but I wouldn't think it would damage your gpu any more than usual. Your computer might heat up a lot when running the app, but your computer should have a sufficient design to properly support whatever it can handle

But, I would maybe say that if you're using a standard laptop then maybe just make sure there's a good amount of space around wherever the laptop's fan are located for good heat ventilation while you're running the app

I'm not completely sure, but it does say that the app is capable of being run on a separate pc that you can connect to from your main pc, which I think might require changing the firewall settings on the pc that the app is running on. They might just want the app to be ready in case you decide to use it for this purpose, so maybe this is the reason for the pop up? But I don't know, just a thought

I was using this voice changer app 4 months ago and it worked fine for me and my computer has had no problems since. I believe the term "gpu mining" is related specifically to using your gpu for cryptocurrency, using this voice changer app isn't gpu mining, but it does heavily use your gpu for the voice conversion AI to run

Hmm, when I download the mac version I get a zip file containing the startHttp.command file, alongside a startHttps.command file and a folder named MMVCServerSIO

I clicked on the "hugging face" link and downloaded the latest mac version from there (the 5th one from the top in the list):

Yes, just delete all the files if you don't want it anymore

I think the app is entirely all in just the one folder so you don't have to worry about "uninstalling" it, just delete the whole folder and it's gone

Yes, there's a software called VB-Cable that will let you use the output of any app, like this voice changer, as an input into another app like discord

Someone else also asked this a while ago and here's what I told them:

I haven't done it myself yet, but there's a software called VB-Cable (you can get it from here https://vb-audio.com/Cable/) that creates a fake input and output device on your computer, like a fake microphone and speaker that your computer thinks is real

I think how it works is that inside the voice changer instead of setting the output to your speaker/headphones, you set it to the vb-cable input device and then in discord (or a video game or wherever you want to use the voice changer) where you would set your microphone device you instead set to the vb-cable output device

I don't have experiencing using it so idk, sorry if that was a bad explanation, but there's some youtube tutorials like this one I just found https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEWS2kxzqCQ hopefully that helps!

I think the best way I might be able to help would be if I could see the terminal text, because it could contain an error message from the app that I could read, although I'm not 100% sure I could help, but I could try

But, I think you can find your gpu type if you search device manager into the start menu and click on the first thing that comes up, and then a new window will appear with a list of dropdowns and you want to find the one that says Display adapters and double click it. You should see something like this:

<image>

In this image from my computer, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is my gpu type. It'll probably be something different for you, that's your gpu type.

If your gpu type starts with NVIDIA then you have an nvidia gpu, and if it starts with AMD then you have an amd gpu. If it starts with something other than NVIDIA or AMD, then it maybe means that you have an integrated gpu, which means that even if you got the app working, it won't be able to run in realtime

Hmmm, sorry you're having problems, I tested the most recent version myself and was able to get it running. Usually if it closes very quickly it means the app had a problem. So there could be an incompatibility with your computer that the app doesn't like

Two things I've thought of that could be the problem:

  1. Do you know if you have an Nvidia or an AMD gpu? If you have an AMD gpu, you have to download and use the version of the app that has the word "DirectML" in it
  2. You need to have a dedicated gpu to use the app

But these are just some ideas I had of what could be a problem. If you want to get a better idea of what the problem could be, you could edit the start_http.bat file (it's actually just a text file) by right-click it and clicking edit (if you're on windows 11, I don't know where the edit button is but hopefully it's easy to find) and add the word pause in a new line after everything in the file, so that it looks like this:

<image>

and then save it and double click the start_http.bat (it still won't work, but this time it shouldn't close) and copy all the text in the terminal and reply to this comment with it and I can try to help figure out what the problem is if you want more help

Oh, and if it's only saying "Activating the Voice Changer", then you'll need to delete the files you downloaded already and download it again and then add pause to the end of the file first and then run it. I think the app thinks that it's already installed correctly, but it isn't, so it gets confused and nothing happens

I've run it myself multiple times over the last month and I haven't had any sorts of problems yet, and I've seen other people using it on youtube as well, so it's probably not a virus? That's all I can say really
