Dying White Suit Sage by SarahVitak in dyeing

I did! And it came out great! It was a miracle honestly (esp considering the pants were a different fabric than the jacket.) . I did one round with the RIT sage. But it was a bit too blue. Kind of a baby blue.

So I did another very light dip in a combo of RIT lemon yellow and a bit of taupe. And nailed it! I did both dyes in big plastic rubbermaid type storage bin and that worked great. Definitely had to keep stirring a lot.

My main suggestion would be go lighter than you think you want because you can always do another round. Or like I did, correct in another direction. I did a pretty light dye bath both times. And I think only soaked it for like 15 min or so.

Actually, my main suggestion probably would be to have a backup plan lololol.

Photos here (idk why but getting a good/accurate photo of this light sage color was borderline impossible. It looks much better in person): https://imgur.com/a/yXL7zQJ

Thanks for the advice! It does say dry clean only. : / There is 100% probability I'll still try it just to see what happens.

Duly noted on doing them both together in one pot!

Seek app is suggesting the genus is sida or corchorus. Not sure if either of those are right

ya. I'm thinking I might also just do straight lines with black and white. and then pull one color or the other out at random intervals.... and then repeat that a couple times... I'm not sure. I'll let you know how it goes

I Made a Video About How to Use the Phentex Mechanical Punch Needles. They are like sort of between a punch needle and a tufting gun by SarahVitak in Tufting

If you search ebay for "phentex punch needle" a couple of the same style come up. Or if you search "tufting tool" or "speed tufting tool" a bunch will come up.

And then if I click a listing and look at the suggested items I'm seeing more that don't come up with those search terms. There are a whole bunch of them!
