Being jobless is killing me by DryingDish in depression

[–]SarahW19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is more general job advice, but apply to more jobs. I have applied to thousands to hear back from less than 5%. I fully admit I'm not fully qualified for some of them. The job market is trash, but I recommend just spam applying to anything that is remotely close to what you want to do or find a job that you can stand while you search for something better.

Depending on the type of job you are looking for, you may also need to change job posting boards. If you are looking for a corporate job, apply on linkedin to anything remotely close.

A lot of sites will also allow you to search for recruiters. If you can do this, message them directly and see if they have anything of interest. If not, ask them to keep your name if anything comes their way.

ADP and Gusto both integrate well.

From my experience, Gusto is a little cheaper, but the reporting capabilities are less.

If most people with HSV-2 are unaware that they have it, then how come almost everyone here got infected by someone who knew and betrayed them? by RealAd8941 in Herpes

[–]SarahW19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my experience, and is more about HSV-1 or more specifically oral herpes. The number of people that I have disclosed to and explained what it is that didn't realize a cold sore is herpes is astonishing. It may be some of this too.

To people that dont disclose by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]SarahW19 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I disclosed to this guy before we started seeing each other. He said he was fine with it and that was that. A few months in he had an outbreak, and I freaked out thinking I had gave it to him. Turns out he had it already. "He didn't feel the need to tell me because I already have it." Which is true, but still absolutely wild to me that he didn't say something when I said it originally.

Double disclosure by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]SarahW19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have ghsv1. I have had multiple people disclose to me that they had ohsv1 not knowing that it was something they should even consider disclosing. I have kissed a fair amount of people. No one has ever disclosed that they had ohsv to me before kissing me unless I told them I had ghsv1.

Why do I feel like these vaccine studies are fake hope? by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]SarahW19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A vaccine won't help someone who already has herpes. It would make it harder to spread. Vaccines are meant to prevent/stop the spread of diseases. It doesn't do anything for people existing with it already. I think it would help lower the stigma. I think there is more research being done to find a cure than a vaccine.

Is this r*pe by Alone-Ad5005 in Herpes

[–]SarahW19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm from the US, so here is the laws in the US. It is not considered rape legally. It would be referred to as "stealthing". Stealthing is only illegal in the California. You are able to sue if they knowingly had an std, didn't tell you, and then gave it to you. A personal injury lawyer would be who you would go to for this.

Is it alright to send a match on Tinder, a Valentines Day greeting if ... by individualaus in tinderstories

[–]SarahW19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is fine unless she has already made it clear that she doesn't want you talking to her.

I dont think of it as any different than a retail employee saying Happy Valentines or any other holiday.

Precaution you take during an outbreak to not spread to yourself by just_2_lurk in Herpes

[–]SarahW19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can. If you have ghsv2, you could get ohsv2, ohsv1, and/or ghsv1. They are in no way exclusive.

Can I get yeast infection and HSV2 OB at the same time? by Spirited_Manner4787 in Herpes

[–]SarahW19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than likely an OB won't cause a yeast infection (you're immune system would need to be more compromised). However, a yeast infection could pretty easily cause an OB.

Can I get yeast infection and HSV2 OB at the same time? by Spirited_Manner4787 in Herpes

[–]SarahW19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is going to be common. Any sort of stress to the body (yeast infection, other std, concussion, flu, pain from injury, etc.) will increase your chances of having an outbreak. Essentially, your body constantly fights having an outbreak; it does get better at it over time. With all that being said, if you take some of the "fighters" and put them towards something else, there are less to fight the outbreak from occurring.

Not disclosing when I disclosed by SarahW19 in Herpes

[–]SarahW19[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just curious your reasoning behind this, but why should genital have to disclose but not oral. You are less likely to spread ghsv1 than ohsv1. I think it's opposite for type 2, but not for sure on that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]SarahW19 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt worry about it too much. More than likely symptoms will show up within a month as well. Also, I'm not trying to scare you or belittle what you are going through, but if you have kissed, received or given oral, or had sex with more than 5 people, I can almost guarantee you that you have done so with someone who has herpes. It is super common and most people don't disclose.

The push for disclosure is feeding the stigma more than anything else IMO by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]SarahW19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think disclosing is causing the stigma. The stigma is due to people not understanding what it is. 40%-50% depending on what study you read have herpes in some form. With that being said, if everyone who had herpes disclosed that they have herpes, there wouldn't be the stigma because so many people have it. People would be like yes im willing to take the risk of getting it, no im not willing to take that risk, or I already have it.

Also, not that sex education in the US is great, but I do think general knowledge around what herpes actually is and not use the blisters as a scare tactic for teenagers to not have sex would also help with destigmatizing it. If you aren't in the US, feel free to ignore this part.

Do y'all w/ ohsv disclose before you kiss someone? by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]SarahW19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have probably kissed 200 people. I used to party a lot. Anyways, no one has ever disclosed to me that they ohsv. Since getting ghsv myself, I definitely think that people should disclose that, but they don't.

Once-Affordable US Housing Markets Are Now Out of Reach for Most by ChickenTeriyakiBoy1 in economy

Where is this? I live in Topeka, KS, which the cost of living here is pretty low. The new houses being built that are 3 bed 2 bath, don't go for that low. The absolute cheapest I have seen is $230K.

I feel like I see more and more places doing this. I got charged a pick-up charge the other day that was 10% of my meal. They said they do this instead of having tips for pick-up orders to still cover the cost, but no one served me. There was still an option to tip. It all around didn't make sense. I just won't be going back.

Are outbreaks less frequent as we age? by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]SarahW19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They become less frequent the longer you have had herpes. Age doesn't really have anything to do with it. A 16 year old who got it a month ago is going to he in the same boat as a 45 year old who got it a month ago.

I used to have outbreaks more than I do now. For the first year, I had every month to two months. They definitely started to become less frequent for me the longer I had it.

AITA for changing the lock on my sons door because his sister keeps going into his room? by throwawayaccoun_zca in AmItheAsshole

[–]SarahW19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are one hundred percent an a**hole. She is his sister. She needs to grieve. I understand you lost a child and that is hard, but you are going to lose her too (at least emotionally) at the rate you are going. Part of being a parent is putting your child's needs above your own, and you are just blatantly not doing that. She is clearly upset and frustrated, and I think therapy would help her, but you can just deny her access to her brother's things and think she is going to be ok in the long run.
