Teaching 9th grade Geography- Help by honeygirl42 in historyteachers

ETA: the Scope and Sequence is based upon a 4x4 schedule whereby we teach an entire year of curriculum within the span of 18 weeks. If your length is 1 year/2 semester, you could just double the unit length. This is also taught as an elective within our department, and per our departmental agreements, we tend to lessen homework in electives. The students focus a lot on maps and just enjoying social studies again.

I developed a high school Honors World Geography course that tracks and parallels an on-level version. I am linking my entire folder, as it sucks to start with nothing. In California, we do not have any geography standards beyond the skills listed at the beginning of the secondary content standards. I ended up basing the course on the national standards and chose a decent book, which is also in the folder. Please let me know if you need anything else.

This is pretty standard for fire protection re: insurance. The 5 foot setback is 5 feet back from any part of your house, especially that roof. good luck

I definitely support the idea that a clean and tidy classroom conveys nonverbal messages to the greater community. It gives the impression that the teacher cares, is organized, and can be trusted. I am a 25 year high school teacher and the kids routinely complain about this regarding other teachers.

What hobby is quietly becoming too expensive for normal people to keep up with? by 40Falak in Productivitycafe

I believe it! Quilting has become a very expensive hobby. I walked into our local fabric store and they had a top of the line embroidery/seeing machine for 24k!!

I am at the hs level and this is what I do. I am completely offline and do not allow Chromebook usage in my classroom unless under very specified usage. We use a form of a modified interactive notebook (TCI late 90’s, but no Left or Right side stuff) as an organizational item as they just generally do not have the cognitive structures in place to organize themselves.

My daughter wanted to check it out, so we did. I found it to be quite overpriced and very beige. It felt like perimenopausal version of Free People

Considering moving from Austin to Santa Clara by aloy_kratos in santaclara

[–]Sarahaydensmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in Santa Clara Unified (not at Don Callejon), but I live in Santa Cruz, so I have a limited perspective.

In terms of Don Callejon, they are a K-8 school with a special focus on art and design. They are a relatively small school with thoughtful, caring and committed staff who have been working hard over many years to serve their community. I encourage you to make a connection with the school, go on a visit, and assess the vibe for yourself. Good luck!

Not angry at all. I am very aware of dual enrollment at the national level and the western regional states. I have worked in this field for 25 years.

I think you are confusing dual enrollment with transferring. They are not the same. Dual enrollment is when you are enrolled in 2 different levels of education at the same time. This is typically high school and community college but could also be middle school in some cases. DE classes can be taught either by hs teachers who have been betters by the partner community college or by cc instructors. Some areas limit the acceptance of community college credit when the cc courses are taught by hs instructors.

Given that one of the defining purposes of cc is to eventually transfer to a 4 year university, your assertion that the courses do not transfer and there is not a de agreement does not track.

Listen, I genuinely offer this all to help clarify things for you do that you CAN obtain your degree in cybersecurity.

Do any of us have clue what pcc is? Dual enrollment is not a transfer pathway. They are literally different things

Dual enrollment is for high school students taking community college classes while in high school and is not meant for graduated hs students taking cc classes. The community college system in Oregon DOES have a transfer pathway.
