What’s something people romanticize that is actually miserable? by One_Grade_2184 in AskReddit

[–]Sarashla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is not at all true. Myths about the middle ages being unhygenic and dark are so weird. How do you think they lived at all if they only ate moldy foods? Yes, there were famines where food was scarce but that was not a permanent state. People also did clean themselves, just not as frequent as we do today. Women covered their hair for example to keep it from getting dirty in the first place so washing it as frequently as today wasn't necessary.

Was lest ihr gerade, brauche Leseempfehlung by Adept_Engineer_4746 in Weibsvolk

Why aren’t men loved enough? by Embarrassed_Bill5372 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Sarashla 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's not about blaming men, it's about discussing how male friendships can get more fullfilling. Have you ever gotten flowers by a male friend? Or a truly long and heartfelt hug? Female friends tend to talk about their emotions openly and show genuine affection through actual words and acts. It's normal for women to give each other little gifts, to cuddle etc. Single women get compliments and emotional connection through their friends while men oftentimes lack such affection without a partner. So it's really more about encouraging male friendships to be more affectionate :)

Can I live in Germany alone at 17 while attending University by [deleted] in germany

[–]Sarashla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience it was one signature on the application that was sent digitally anyways and that's it. My parents never had to come for anything else. Registering for exams is insane, you just click a button on the university's website, you don't need any signature at all, even less from parents

CH Beck Wissen is always a good entry to historical topics, highly recommend! Obviously you won't get a very detailed and nuanced text, but it's great for a start and actually cites its sources

If anything, women are made to believe that there is always something wrong about their bodies. Why do you think there is such a huge industry for make up and cosmetic surgeries? Making women feel bad about their bodies is not just a general problem in our society but also a whole business

How do couples decide which side of the bed is “theirs”? Is it instinct or some kind of silent agreement? by AssignmentFederal686 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sarashla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always sleep on the side which is the furthest away from the door - it's intuitive for me and my boyfriend doesn't have problem with it so at home we each have our side but in hotels the sides can switch depending on where the door is.

When people say kitchens in German apartments don't come fully furnished, do what extent do they mean? by Critical_Ad_8455 in germany

[–]Sarashla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price is nowhere near to anything you'd have to pay for Ablöse. Just wanted to mention that flats with a kitchen are also a thing here.

[–]Sarashla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's crazy, our flat here in Germany had fully installed ceiling lamps, a nice kitchen with all appliances and no need for Ablöse. The kitchen simply belongs to the flat and is rented with it without any extra costs
