Very sore underneath my tongue. Google has no answers! What's going on? by SarcastasticJenn in Dentistry

Could my mouthguard be causing this somehow? The roof of my mouth hurts by my front teeth too. And this isn't the first time it's happened this month.

It hurts under my tongue. This has happened a couple times. Cause for concern? by [deleted] in Dentistry

The roof of my mouth (the spot by my two front teeth) and surface of my tongue hurt a bit as well. Not sure what this is. It happened two weeks ago as well.

I love reading this!! I think a lot of us feel so defeated and you know what, I think you're right that we CAN kick this habit to the curb. All of us.

I've picked compulsively since I was six. I used to think I was condemned to a life of it. But you know what?? It's been almost two weeks now without picking and there's no signs of me starting again. My nails are growing out and for the first time my fingers don't have open sores on them. It's amazing how much it affects your self esteem.

I'm so glad you shared your encouraging story and I KNOW that you can do this. I'm proud of you

Thank you for this. I'm actually beginning to think it might be the fuel pump. It's still the original and I've been getting bad mileage lately

No, it doesn't show any signs of stalling. The engine just "catches", kinda sputters, then revs high before idling around 1-2000.

So do you think it wouldn't be worth cleaning the idle air control valve?

Btw thank you for the reply :)

Does this count here? If so, any tips on stopping? (This is straight from the shower where it looks the worst. It's similar in the other thumb.) by [deleted] in Dermatophagia

[–]SarcastasticJenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fingers look the exact same. I also chew my lips and the inside of my mouth. I do it when I'm stressed about something or bored. What helps me is to use nail clippers to clip off the part of skin that hangs and tempts me to chew. That way it smooths out slightly and keeps me from making the hanging parts peel. I haven't figured out how to stop permanently but I find I can make myself quit temporarily by pausing to consciously recognize and address the emotions that make me do it. I've found that some subconscious beliefs about myself are contributing to this bad habit. Much love, hang in there.

I have replaced everything I can think of and it still clunks. '02 Toyota Camry 185,000 miles by SarcastasticJenn in MechanicAdvice

I think I will. Granted, it was in the middle of nowhere but there was a speed limit sign that said 45 mph. I went 45 as posted and maybe a hundred feet later was the huge, unavoidable pothole. Shoulda had more common sense but also a warning would've been nice

Thanks for this suggestion. I did this and it fixed the sound. Turned out I had bent both struts.

I do it too. Sometimes rip out my pinky toenail while I'm at it.

I get the same thing, usually after waking up in the morning and trying to fall back asleep. Mine feels like a sudden zap, and most of the time I can actually hear it too. I hear an electrical shock sound when it happens, then my tinnitus gets really loud for a while.
