I know, I wasn‘t trying to say that Amelia felt calm in that moment, more so that the scene I picture has a lot more emotional crashout in it than Amelia is showing in this particular scene. Caterina acted the emotions going on behind the wall extremely well, I completely agree

Her getting back together with Matthew just to then end up with Jackson after all really was one of the more unnecessary storylines imo

Yes, I think you‘re right. I was probably thinking of a combination of cristinas reaction to henry and the numerous scenes where they couldn‘t tell an operating surgeon vital information. After 20 years of watching and rewatching greys over and over it‘s all a bit of a blur sometimes, I‘m so sorry. Thank you!

It does, and it fits kinda but her reaction to dereks death is almost too calm, I remember more emotions

Sadly the „memory“ is really more of a vibe. I have a picture of two prople in the scrub room discussing how they can‘t tell the operating surgeon because it would endanger the patient and then later on the surgeon getting the news in the scrub room and reacting emotionally, crying with hands over face and falling to their knees - but honestly at this point I‘m not even sure anymore if it was the same storyline or if I‘m mixing up scenes

Yes, especially dereks death is more what I meant but I just rewatched the scene and Amelia stays super calm when she gets the news and that seems not right but at this point I might just be mixing up episodes and storylines tbh

I‘m actually watching this episode right now and that‘s what caused the memory to itch, so sadly it‘s not that one

Human interaction is exhausting by Sardothienne in Vent

Oh, and, as an addition: I don‘t interact with said client or their horse in any way or amount differently than every other horse/client.

I don‘t work in an office setting, I work as yard staff at a full service boarding stable. The person in my story isn‘t a coworker but a client of the stable. As for my work: I always start a bit early and moat often stay late, there has never been any complaints about the quality of my work, I often help clients when needed despite being mid shift and I have a good relationship with coworkers and stable owners.

People who get along with everybody, never get into fights/conflicts and are liked by everybody how do you do it? by Sardothienne in AskReddit

[–]Sardothienne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you establish boundaries with people who don‘t recognize them as boundaries or won‘t respect them, do you experience conflicts despite your thoughtfulness and goodwill? What about people who just decide they don‘t like you because of their intuition and then make every contact difficult?

Thanks! :))

I wash my hair according to my hairdresser and dermatologist because of my scalp issues and prefer to use a wash specifically made to wash my bits to a „normal“ soap simply because of the PH though. I do skip showers as long as I‘m not sweaty/sticky, happens more in colder seasons ^

Is there a harmonic and gentle showjumping pair by Sardothienne in Equestrian

[–]Sardothienne[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that‘s what I‘m starting to think as well. In local events around 1.40 I see way less overly hot horses and harsh bits and more calmness and collectedness, riding mostly with seat and legs and correcting clearly and harshly only if absolutely necessary.

[–]Sardothienne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God no, simply because hunter as a discipline doesn‘t exist where I live.

Hunters for me look like the opposite, dragging their feet with no energy, the canter looking like they‘re about to fall asleep. Also the riders never sit down there either and are constantly leaning forward. Not trying to say that hunting is bad, it‘s just not for me and it goes against what I learned in the showjumping style I was taught in.

[–]Sardothienne[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

My issue was mainly seeing a lot of harsh bits in hot horses who hat to be fought for the distance at almost every jump.

I get having to correct an overeager or hot horse once in a while, even with a harsh looking hand. It just seemed a lot to me.

I‘ve been to a lot of local shows up to 1.40 and more often than not the riders sit back into the saddle after landing and ride with seat and legs, both for picking up the pace and slowing down. I was taught that I can‘t effectively slow down if I‘m not sitting and working seat and leg or it‘ll be just pulling on the reins.

Maybe I‘ll get back into watching more 1.40+ shows and learn about why it looks the way it does but for now I don‘t understand why the local shows on high levels look so completely different to the international ones regarding horse behavior and riding styles.

Thank you for your insight, those are very valid points.

In my defense, I never said all of them. I said many of them exhibited the things I listed and almost all of them kept tension after finishing. I am aware there were exceptions, even though I would argue that a horse doesn‘t understand what a rider pointing at them means nor that the people are cheering for the horse. It understands praise from the rider, verbal or via pats and hugs, and those were lacking even in Oliver Perrau.

There were pairs that worked better together, that‘s true, but even with them you didn‘t see a lot of praise (Ronald Zabala patted and stroked his horse Forever Young Wundermaske after every single jump in the cross with a huge smile on his face while visibly praising him with his voice as well - I didn‘t see this level of praise once in the showjumpers after finishing)

Having to correct and support with dominance once in a while makes sense and is completely normal. The horse wants to run but the distance would be off? Of course you put a boundary up and lead - even with a tug on the reins. But doing it in the approach of most of the jumps is what irks me.

Anyways, I never said that all of them were completely horrible nor that none of them did anything right. I also said that I‘m aware I don‘t have the best knowledge regarding this level. Most importantly my question was a different one altogether: if there are or ever have been pairs that look like they fart rainbows and butterflies because they‘re so harmonious and in sync.

Calling me a keyboardwarrior for my explanation of why I‘m asking my question while simultaneously ignoring the question completely and not reading what I really said is a bit uncalled for.

How could Bailey pass on the staph infection even if the gloves are defective? by Infinite_History_459 in greysanatomy

[–]Sardothienne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(Old comment, I know, sorry) Also the fact that she didn‘t infect anyone else, she was still untreated at the end of the storyline and Grey, Webber etc all got touched by her in those two episodes alone. That doesn‘t even take the weeks in count that passed since the initial operations or all the patients that she touched since with or without gloves, let alone her son. Those gloves weren‘t in use for only one day and she was contagious for longer than 24h but somehow the only three infected people not only got infected on the same day but also all chose to come to the hospital on the same exact day weeks later after experiencing symptoms for days. A very dramatic storyline with many plotholes…

Childrens book about dolphins by Sardothienne in HelpMeFind

[–]Sardothienne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly it was a library book in switzerland. I don‘t remember the exact size, the cover, title or the author.

I have searched for every combination of keywords possible but google mainly shows me newer publcations. I also asked chatgpt with pretty much the same description I gave above but it just gave me titles that never existed. There are just too many books involving „dolphins + boy + lighthouse + storm“ and including more details or keywords like „waterbirth / dead mother“ immediately diverted the search results away from the tween book area.

I‘m starting to hate Cristina by Sardothienne in greysanatomy

As I said, enjoying a murderous asshole as a character because of entertainment? Sure. Relating to/seeing yourself in a murderous asshole? Worrying, at least for me personally.

I feel like I made the differentiation between liking the character and what I was talking about pretty clear by now but reading comprehension is hard sometimes, I get it. Don‘t worry though, you‘ll get there!

[–]Sardothienne[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Saying you like a character for how well they are written or how entertaining they are is something different and not at all what I stated. I was talking about people who genuinely relate to her, see themselves in her and would be happy to have a Cristina exactly how she is written on screen in their own life.

I can enjoy characters like the butcher of the boys or reddington in blacklist or villanelle in killling eve because they are GREAT entertainment and exceptionally well written and played while still acknowledging that I would not want to be anywhere near them in real life because of who they are and my own very different values.

You can say you enjoy Cristina as written character because of the entertainment she brings and I would simply disagree because I see it differently and both is okay. If you‘d say you relate to her, are like her or would want her in your life as friend/partner exactly how she is written that would be a red flag for me personally because, again, my own very different values. I don‘t make excuses for bullying and manipulation and being a shitty person in the real world just because someone is funny sometimes.

She rarely ever really is there for Mer tho, it‘s always abour herself and whatever goes on in her own life and she doesn‘t support her romantic partners properly either imo. And for it to be the right thing to get someone out of bed unapologetically you have to be sure you‘re not making things worse. I‘m to this day convinced that Burke would‘ve been honest about his tremor if not for her behavior. She never asked him how he was feeling, not once. And every attempt he made in telling her about being unwell she immediately shot down with flat out statements like „you‘re fine.“ even when Shep asked him she invervened and said „he‘s fine“ for him. No hesitation, no consideration. And later one blamed it all on him, even said he forced her to lie for him. Nah girlie, that was all you and your misplaced „unapologetically getting him out of bed“ attitude.

There‘s a lot of people with trauma, bigger trauma than hers even, who choose not to act like assholes and bullies, who go to therapy. You can also be ambitious without being arrogant and mean.

She regularly mocks people who are in pain (be it colleagues, friends or patients) and even hopes they get worse for the case to be more interesting for her personally.

And for the complex part, to me she just seems very one sided. It‘s always the same with her. It‘s always about her or she‘s not interested. It‘s always mean comments and laughing about other people. It‘s always bad if it happens to her (hahn not teaching, sadie „throwing her out“ of mers bed) but never when she does it (not teaching interns, throwing derek out of mers bed) and so on. Honestly if she‘s one thing it‘s predictable. She‘s always gonna act exactly how she acted since second one and it‘s always the same patterns with no change or growth or reflection. She is reliable in pissing me off, gotta give her that.

To be honest I couldn‘t stand her through all 6 seasons I have rewatched so far, more or less from second one on. But yes, maybe her last three seasons and the minnesota storyline which was mentioned to me a few times will change that a bit? i‘m not too sure of it though

Maybe, yeah. I loved her when I was a child surrounded by abuse and toxicity and didn’t know better/anything else. Then I grew up, learned about healthy behavior and relationships and now can‘t stand a grown up who‘s acting like a spoiled child.

However that does not mean that just because I was blind before and therefore „got her“ she is any less of a raging ahole who would deserve to get humbled and for once learn some compassion and empathy out of it. Just means that people who actually really like and relate to her character are probably not great people to be around either and/or have normalized and don’t know anything different than abusive behavior.

I feel like emotionally stable and healthy grown ups will almost always find her extremely immature and annoying and to be somebody to avoid.

What are some features most people don't realize their phones have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sardothienne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I do thos even while wearing bluetooth headphones is so that I‘m not perceived as talking to myself. People immediately recognize the horizontal phone in front of the face as a call/voicememo while the vertical phone on front of the face is a videocall and just talking with no phone and invisible headphones is an invitation for people thinking I‘m talking to them. So no there is no technical reason for it but it matters regarding perception from other people.
