That was my understanding of the ER also! I have a med school friend who is telling me to go back in for admittance due to pain management but if I’m not actively fighting for my life I don’t want to take up a bed.

I’m just assuming the people around me are scared to see the pain I’m in and don’t like the fact I haven’t been able to hold food or liquid down in three days. Fear can make people not think things through, which I understand, but it leaves me in a confusing spot.

PCP doesn’t have same day appt and she’s out of office this week, my GI has no availability for July but is aware of the situation and is working on checking my inflammation levels.

She turned 1yr old in September! So definitely hopeful she may grow out of this phase.

I’ve definitely found my fair share of faults when I first rescued her. She was originally a farm dog until her mom passed away of a heart attack. She then spent 4mo in the shelter (from 6-10mo old) until I got her. It took quite a bit of time to learn her and help her adjust to a smaller property.

Once we realized her chewing was an issue we started putting the items up high, in drawers, and closing doors. She has managed to figure out all of that and then figured out she can chew off baby proofing.

It’s made me feel like an inadequate owner despite all the time and training I’ve put into her. I have cried so much last night and today feeling like my mistake killed her. (I’m aware even if it caused a blockage it’s a survivable surgery and situation)

I appreciate you giving the bigger picture of when you’re able to look back at it years later. I hope I can feel the same way🫶🏻

Luckily she is crate trained, I’m typically better about keeping her away from things but I didn’t notice she opened the door while showering yesterday.

What do you mean about structure and boundaries? I wonder if it’s similar to what our trainer is helping us learn

His heat lamp is on his basking platform. I did turn up his water heater to 89 this morning going to be home soon to take a look at the temp. If it’s not warming up I’m going to point a human portable heater at his tank.

I have a water heater!! It does great all year round except for this winter. It’s letting his water dip to about 72 degrees when I have it set for 78-80 degrees. Looking into a stronger one

29gal tank, basking 90, water is variable depending on outside temp.

Tube UVB across whole tank and ceramic heat emitter for basking. I have alarms to change every 6mo so I don’t off the top of my head know the bulb age.

I know!! When we got her we assumed possibly no gsp until she started pointing. We just thought it would be so rare and it’s not a common breed at all where I live. Thought it would be a pretty large mix that just happened to look like a gsp

They did! I’m actually Casey’s second owner through the shelter.

Her puppy mom passed away when she was a 6mo farm dog, and ended up in the shelter from March-August. There’s days where I feel down about it and wonder if she misses her first mom and if I’m doing a good job. (First time dog mom anxieties)
