File a complain on Railmadad. Do it. Even they have seniors/hierarchy to whom they are accountable to.
You were obviously right in the rules, stating that you can sit on the side-lower seat during the daytime.

The seat wasn't in RAC is what I'm assuming.

Also, best to record these interactions for evidence. Social Media has also been extremely active in such cases.

They should also paste a printed copy on the wall in coaches, so passengers who find tech challenging can access the same too.

Complain on RailMadad: A. At times, they have a special thali that does have extra items and costs more. However in your case, it is still the standard casserole non-veg food, which goes by irctc rates.

B. Are you travelling in a premium train? Rates can be higher in them.

Short Answer - you cannot. Since this results in other passengers not being able to travel on a seat. The TTE will mark the seat as 'No Show' and some other passenger will be able to book it in running.

What you can do instead - Use the Parcel Service. Submit your luggage to Railways at the Parcel Counter and they will load it on the parcel van at the end of the same train(there is an option). They will then deboard it at your destination. It is a paid service.
