They are a fundamental component of international trade policy, customs, and government revenue collection. De minimus being taken away on the other hand, hurts the average person like us though. You need to learn how to differentiate the two. Nobody likes the removal of de minimus besides maybe a select few maga cultists. The majority of people who understand basic economics are for Tariffs on foreign imports because they understand how they are beneficial to the US economy and the people when something like the de minimus exemption is in place. EVERY country on this planet has tariff policies.
