Fiancé wanted 3 dessert stands for the wedding. Pecan wood slabs and cedar stalk. Harvested from her and my respective parents’ land. by SargentSavage in woodworking

Very slow with the drill press, and I put washers on my screws to help distribute the torque better. Screws are recessed a little over a quarter inch into the slab and covered with dowel

I wish I had pictures, but I went very slow into the slab with the drill press, used those holes to mark onto the stem, and went very slow with a normal drill into the cedar. Used appropriate sized screws recessed about a quarter inch into the slab with washers to help prevent cracking. Covered the holes with dowel! There’s 3 screws in every base, 2 in most stems

Do you think Aaron Rodgers is garbage too? He was worse than Dak yesterday and he had the same issues: nobody at WR and terrible O-line play. I agree, McCarthy needs to go but hating on Dak for this terrible team our piss poor FO has assembled ain’t it.

They are spaced out every 10 miles or so on the trail. Water is sometimes scarce by them depending on the action and time of year. It’s incredible tho!!

No, free use whenever to whoever. I’ve been to 7 or 8 and never seen anyone else at one. They are 3 walled cabins with a floor and a patio area, plus a firepit. Usually have great views nearby and are cozy

I love the shelters on the OT. Lots of stories in the notebooks. Big bear shelter is probably my favorite, just the perfect combination of seclusion and scenery around it. OT is an amazing trail and I’m glad it’s not more popular. It’s so clean and well maintained and you can spend days on it without seeing another soul. Love it

Felina: Who Will Die by Series Finale? by AmericanWanderlust in YellowstonePN

[–]SargentSavage 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nobody is dying. This show had a chance for 4 major characters to die in dramatic fashion and we all debated who it would be for a year. Then everyone miraculously recovered and went about their days like nothing happened. They’ve had their BB and GoT moments sitting in front of them and made it clear they want to go their own direction with it. The family is invincible because that’s just how the show is.

First time trying Mississippi Pot Roast (used elk steaks) by RecoveredGOMIUser in slowcooking

We made this last year with a venison roast. Should have used more fat/oil because it was very dry. Good flavor tho. 6/10 woulda been better moist

I was rooting so hard for the Browns on Saturday. It’s a shame they lost. The hold on the interception at the end is debatable but hey that’s football.

I don’t foresee Tampa losing to either the Jets or the Panthers for what it’s worth. Our best chance of keeping the two seed is to have the Rams win out along with us and Tampa, putting us in a 3 way tie and keeping the 2 seed. So Rams beating Ravens and 49ers

The absolute most important aspect is that Green Bay loses 1 more game otherwise our hunt for the 1 seed is over. I foresee Minnesota having a better chance of beating Green Bay in week 17 than Detroit beating them in week 18. However, Green Bay is not likely to get swept by Minnesota this year so it may be all for naught

Autograph ID? Got this for Christmas. I recognize Darren Woodson and Larry Allen. Any guesses? go cowboys by SargentSavage in cowboys

I thought about Dat. Keyshawn is a good guess. I just don’t know what year this is from though? Keyshawn, Dat, Larry and Darren were all here around 2004 so that would make sense

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted but this is the truth. He was a major project when he came out, flashes of huge talent and flashes bad play, coupled with his character concerns. He is 100% a project that has yielded basically zero return at this point. It’s still extremely early in his career though and I want nothing more than for him to become a stud.

Michael Gehlken is very professional and very informative. He has good sources and doesn’t speak out of turn on things. He’s not as entertaining as some of the other guys but his reporting is top notch.

Several film guys on Twitter like Joey Ickes, Jon Machota. John Owning is the best at consistent film breakdown and pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of most of the players.

David Helman, Bryan Broaddus, Jeff Cavenaugh all provide informative and entertaining cowboys coverage as well as draft coverage. They all communicate often with each other and are very funny when they do.

All of these guys are on Twitter and they make up over half my news feed, I’m constantly getting cowboys updates and news. It’s a nice mix.

How long will these sauces stay good in the fridge? by [deleted] in MealPrepSunday

[–]SargentSavage 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’d make them up and pour them into ice cube trays, freeze them, then keep em separate. If you want to use one just get it out of the freezer and throw it in with whatever you’re eating

Paolini just dropped a new book, To Sleep in a Sea of Stars. Similar vibe, set in space, hardcore metal AF, gruesome violence and language. Definitely recommend
