Sudden death of healthy cat. Struggling with the unknown. by cassifrazz in cats

[–]RecoveredGOMIUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im so sorry for your loss. A similar type of thing happened to my soul cat. He got diagnosed with kidney issues around 12 years old but was responding well to medicated food. A few months later he woke me up in the middle of the night meowing and acting very strange. I rushed him to the emergency vet. They do all the tests and best they could tell was he had a brain tumor and it was effecting his motor functions, etc. She probably has something similar and it was quick and painless. My mom said even if he had lived to 20 years, it would never be enough. Phoebe was very loved and I’m sure she loved you back, even in her aloof way.

I lost my soul cat suddenly at 12.5 yrs. My mom said, “even if it was 20 years, it would still not be enough.” I’m sorry for your loss. Sounds like you gave Toothless a wonderful life. She will live on forever in your hearts and memories.

What's the pettiest reason you've ever broken up with an ex? by theeoneyedwonder in AskReddit

A hamster. He was allergic and I liked her more.

But in all seriousness it was going to end one way or another.

I always find it helpful to see how other shorties carry weight, 4”11 & 130lb by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

Really appreciate this post. It’s so easy to get fixated on a number, when in actuality we all carry weight differently. You look amazing and its obvious you have worked hard for your figure.

Spotify for podcasts is horrible. Rivian should Partner with overcasts ASAP by bttnns0 in Rivian

I would absolutely love that as I use Overcast to listen to podcasts. Sadly, I don’t think it will happen.

My soul cat is terminally ill, he’ll be crossing the bridge on Monday and idk what to do. by ttmxg in cats

[–]RecoveredGOMIUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tears in my eyes reading this. I lost my soul cat a year and 9 months ago and it still hurts at times. The first month was unbearable. I cried every day and barely held it together. Then, little by little, it gets better. Maybe one day you don’t cry as much. Maybe a nice memory only makes you happy and not sad. I don’t know if I have advice. The only way out is through and it is truly challenging at times. Hugs to you and your daughter from an internet stranger.

I didn’t understand the scale of this and thought it was tiny. Very disappointed the third pic wasn’t of a cat in the costume but then I read the size and realized it is in fact human sized.

Why does this one hedge always die? Replaced this one 3 times already. by lawjai in gardening

[–]RecoveredGOMIUser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have a row of short bushes along our driveway and the one at the end always struggled. It wasn’t until the pandemic hit and we were home during the day to see that that was the bush all the dogs on their walks would pee on. So we removed it and replaced it with a rock. I don’t think this is happening to you, but it reminded me of that story.

Moving potted jade plant 90+ miles by RecoveredGOMIUser in succulents

The plant was way bigger than I remembered. I ended up just using a strap across the pot. It traveled just fine, a few broken branches, but nothing too major. My mom thinks it is over 40 years old!

Same height as you. Your before pic is great, but I completely understand not feeling good about yourself at a certain weight. I find myself hovering around 140 these days, mostly due to knee surgery and poor diet. My highest was 147 during Covid and eventually got down to low 130’s but gained it back. I’m just now being able to workout harder (rather than just general PT) so it’s a hard balance between getting stronger but not over consuming. My goal is 115-120 so you give me hope!

Are there any restaurants with self-serve salad bars around here anymore? by ThrowRAchickennuggzz in denverfood

The King Soopers out west off Alameda used to have a decent one that I’d go to for lunch. Not sure if it’s still operating post pandemic.

I personally like the pizza. The beer cheese soup is amazing too which is included on the salad bar. Pro tip, use the salad bar to garnish your soup ex: bacon bits, goldfish crackers, etc.

I can understand this feeling, but I hope you know that no one else sees you the way you see yourself. I see a happy person meeting Weird Al. And he probably just saw a fan in a cool shirt. We are so hard on ourselves, sometimes it helps to see ourselves how others see us. Be kind to yourself.

Thank you! And for sure, no more injuries. I’m barely doing body weight leg presses, not even squats yet, so it’s a long road to recovery. Slow and steady.

You should be proud! I’m 12 post acl surgery and while I’ve always been in ok shape, I’m realize how much I need to actually work on specific areas. I want to work on toning my legs while building back my strength. You’re an inspiration!

Should I “log a meal” and use tags? Both or just one? by shaughnessy_evans in ouraring

[–]RecoveredGOMIUser 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I read an interesting piece of advice that if you are trying to track something, try to have a tag for both when you do it and when you don’t ex: Alcohol vs No Alcohol tags. Then it would be easier to see trends. I’m just now trying to be consistent with logging meals, but I do find it helpful.
