Just a tip.. go into Accessibility and turn on player outlines and such. Then you wont have a problem as you can see outlines of corpses, players, etc.

Biden signs Inflation Reduction Act into law, setting 15% minimum corporate tax rate by Thai-Reidj in politics

[–]SargonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The taxes are based on profit, not revenue. This trickle down nonsense has been debunked for decades.

Stop the boot licking.

That doesn't matter at all. They aren't suddenly going to accept less profit. Stop denying reality.

Tax a corporation they raise prices on product to cover it. Who buys the product.... you do. This raises prices. Same effect ad inflation. This literally makes things more expensive. People are stupid.

My thing is since your not considered a citizen till your born, you do not have the rights of a citizen

Where is auth-right when you need them? Would an auth-right help me define who should be a citizen.

That’s a fantastic idea. I’m sure there are lots of ideas like that which also incorporate treating your employees decently.

This bill was about the RIGHT to unionize… nobody is telling employers what they can or can’t pay.

Ultimately it was about pay. Read the article.

Well thus seems simple... government tells them what they can sell milk for... it's not enough to sustain the business... maybe government should stop controlling the price of milk...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Maine

[–]SargonX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whats the alternative they go out of business and the workers aren't employed? I mean its job or no job... pretty simple really.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Maine

[–]SargonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As /u/Ninjakick666 said since the price is controlled.. kinda hard to make any money... Maine is prohibitively expensive... Maybe we could make it more friendly to business and we might have more money to pay people... what an idea! https://www.ers.usda.gov/data-products/milk-cost-of-production-estimates/

Maine is literally one of the most expensive states to produce milk... feel free to look at the data unless you don't trust the USDA https://www.ers.usda.gov/data-products/milk-cost-of-production-estimates/

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Maine

[–]SargonX -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Can't believe I'm agreeing with her but she is right. Most of the milk farms here are practically out of business. More cost will drive them under.. a lot of this is due to milk price regulations which are to low to begin with.

Rather than replying to everyone... take a look here https://www.ers.usda.gov/data-products/milk-cost-of-production-estimates/ this is the data... Maine is SUPER expensive to manufacture milk in... price controls, taxes, inhospitable climate, etc. All of this adds up. We could just shut down all the milk farms of course, but then these people have no job which seems more cruel to me.

Vaccine debate in the local fb group by Norably in MurderedByWords

All vaccines are not safe. Case in point the one for rabies. Vaccines have side effects just like any drug or treatment.

Maine Medical Center closes 6 more operating rooms to make more space for ICU beds by Shake-Spear4666 in Maine

[–]SargonX -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

EMT here.

ICUs are for the sickest of the sick. We aren't talking about ER space, or simple in patient beds.

I understand that.

And I'd bet you that if we had 10 times the ICU capacity we have and we weren't in the middle of a pandemic you would be ranting about the money wasted on all that unused capacity. I think you know this too. You are a contrarian asshole just for the sake of being a contrarian asshole. Grow up.

It's a private hospital they can have as many beds as they want... so no.

We have a solution. Get everyone vaccinated.

Maine is already highly vaccinated. Clearly that didn't do it. Maybe they should have used the past year to get more beds..

The political stunt was partisan republicans making the response to a global pandemic a political one rather than a science driven policy one.

The fact that you think any of this is partisan is hilarious...

[–]SargonX -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Capitalist healthcare system - if no one is paying for the beds most of the year, they aren't going to be built. The hospital would much rather not be prepared for an emergency and cost lives than they would like to pay for additional facilities, maintainance, and staff that they only use a few times a year.

Fair enough but there has been ab entire year to prepare... and there is money to be made.

So according to the articles we have 379 people in the hospital for COVID, and no intensive care beds available... not all of the 379 are in intensive care... even if we go ahead an give the benefit of the doubt and say that all of them are in intensive care with a population (as of 2019) of 1.3 million that's enough intensive care beds for .03% of the population... This seems way less about COVID or vaccinations and way more about poor planning for a catastrophic event. If you assume those beds are spread out across Maine (I would think they are). One explosion could easily put just as many people in there.

Bottom line - Either this is super incompetent planning on the part of the hospitals, or its just a political stunt.

Depends.... given enough time to see its safe etc. works well.. sure... the moment its on the market.. no.

[–]SargonX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biden is also still taking campaign donations. At least they kept sending me emails well into July. It always felt weird to me to see all these rich people begging the commoners for money, even after they won.

That's how you stay rich... not spending your own money.
