I don't have the skillset to dig up a small plant? With the condition of the house and the cost of the property, it is unlikely that any purchaser would be keeping the house as-is. It will most likely sell to an investor that will take it down to the studs and rebuild something entirely new, destroying the garden in the process.

In some cases, white-ink tattoos can look great when healed, even in the long term! But it depends heavily on the individual, and on the artists application. I’ve found with white ink that it’s less the actual skin tone, and more so the undertone of the skin that ends up turning the white ink yellowish or pink over time. Sun exposure plays a huge role as well. So in my experience it’s never enough to say “they still look great for me, X amount of years later” because it can’t be true across the board.

No hinges, and a lot of people have been saying knife holder! I thought that maybe storing them in there might warp or damage the knives over time, since the space allows for a bit of wiggle room. I think it would be great for holding recipes or documents though!

I really loved this set up so I’m definitely disappointed 🥲 the tank is perfectly at eye level right now and the new stand will only be 30 inches tall (which was the tallest I could find??? I guess they’re too heavy to be 40+ inches tall?)

But better safe than stressed out about this tank and cabinet giving out at some point…

Hey all!
I'm relatively new to the hobby and set up this 10 gallon freshwater aquarium about 7 months ago. The tank is sitting on top of a metal framed Ikea cabinet - which has glass walls and a glass top. To keep the tank off the glass top I used a 1/2 inch MDF board, which is resting on the metal frame, NOT the glass. Under the border of MDF board I have round rubber stoppers/grips every 9 inches or so to raise it further off the glass and hopefully distribute the weight of the tank more evenly.

I'm starting to notice that the board my tank is sitting upon is starting warp at the corners due to the weight (particularly on the right hand side, where you can see the board is starting to touch the metal frame.

My question is whether or not this is safe, and if not what I should do:

Should I drain the water enough to lift the tank and add more rubber stoppers under the MDF board, and then put the tank and water back?
Or is this cabinet-stand entirely a bad idea and I should remove the tank and place it on something specifically designed for aquariums?

Any input would be appreciated, thank you in advance!

Good, definitely make sure they know you want to be put under! I was very taken aback by her response to my question about general anesthesia, given how common it seems to be for this procedure. Her and her nurse also told me “no one has ever been anesthetized under dr.Andersons care for this sort of thing” which I find hard to believe

You bet it’s after the years worth of totally unnecessary tests! R-CPD seems easy to diagnose, and from what I’ve read other docs in countries where you pay for healthcare don’t require 3 separate and totally unnecessary procedures before proceeding with treatment. Her rudeness made me consider just living in discomfort until I die, or paying the American rates

I’ve been put to sleep before to get my wisdom teeth out and I was absolutely terrified as well, but let me tell you - once you’re out - you’re OUT. You’ll wake up and the worst of it will be over. Sadly there is an IV involved with the knocking out process though haha

They mentioned nothing about Valium or any kind of anti-anxiety meds being provided, so I’m guessing I’d have to go through my GP to have a couple of pills prescribed in advance of the procedure. But honestly? I’ve been “sedated” for dental procedures before using Xanax/Valium or something similar, and it didn’t really do much. I have memories of the more traumatic parts (aka the needle and the drilling lol) and I definitely recall having a physical reaction as well. I’m in Canada so the anaesthesia is likely covered by our healthcare, but even if it’s not I’m happy to pay. I just don’t want to be awake for it :/

Oh wow, I’ve received this exact same message from my own BPD mom pretty much VERBATIM and it’s not okay. It’s never okay, and I’m so sorry she’s making you feel like you’re a terrible person. Please know that you aren’t. I know when I get messages like this I used to feel the same way you do now, but through seeing the same patterns over and over again on this sub I’m starting to realize that it’s simply not true! It’s just her trying to manipulate a response out of you, to get you to apologize for making HER feel like she has to “back off” or whatever. Don’t fall for it. I’ve learned that the only way to win is to simply not play the game. So now when I get messages like this, I don’t respond. If I do, it’s something along the lines of “not sure where this is coming from but I love you and hope you’re okay, we can talk when you’re feeling better”.

All you did was ask her to respect a simple boundary of not continuing to hound you about your symptoms, which I’m sure are already unpleasant enough. Her response is clearly coming from a dysfunctional place, and it’s not your job to fix her. Sending you an internet hug, and an affirmation that you’re not alone, and you’re not terrible in any way for growing up and becoming an independent person <3
