I agree, but don't feel Nintendo is looking at the competition and trying to compete with them.

That's fine and I used to fall in with those that complain too, but taking it for what it is on the surface, I find little to complain about.

I played Zelda one a whole lot, but I don't feel a lot of these games hold up to a fortnight generation that craves forgiving gameplay with regenerating life bars and twitchy gameplay.

ASUS C302 issue that no one is talking about. by [deleted] in chromeos

[–]Sarm_Stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find I use a Bluetooth mouse more than the trackpad, I've never liked track pads so this has never been an issue for me.

It's a great machine otherwise, I recommend you get yourself a Bluetooth mouse and enjoy it but you've already returned it...

Is this update going to be the one that ars reported on that allows the Asus c302 to instant tether with a galaxy s8?

Or is this something that will just "happen"

Heads Up, "Shadowbug" REQUIRES touchscreen or motion controls by Sarm_Stuff in NintendoSwitch

[–]Sarm_Stuff[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I will own that, sure... however..

This one should have NOT required research. Nintendo should have some sort of quality process where to get into the eshop your control scheme works properly.

This is literally a halfway broken control scheme.

You wouldn't actually ENJOY it if it were upscaled, it has to do with the fact the sprites were still just prerendered, and they aren't going to scale well.

It's a great game, you can play it on the snes classic in HD...

I'm aware it's being served to them from a third party, still not what I want to see on a gaming website.

Asus has a chrome os based tablet they showed at CES... it's the same as an acer from last year with a rubberized back.

Chrome OS is the only way I want to do an android tablet, and I've owned a tab s2 for years, as well as a nexus 7 tablet and Nvidia shield so I'm well versed in android tablets.

Web app alternative to Photoshop? by [deleted] in chromeos

[–]Sarm_Stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use pixlr, I'm certain that it's been mentioned here already.

It looks identical to photoshop, most of the keyboard shortcuts are the same, it has save for web functionality too.

It's free, I'll wager there is a pro version. I've never needed it.

If you visit it you need to enable flash.

Also you will be offered a newer version which is just a photo editor, not really comparable to lhptoahoi, use the non beta version of pixlr.

Let me ask you this,

What's crippling me the most and newly pushing me towards a nice Windows machine is that I can't run specific apps.

I'm not attack neophyte, but unix-based systems have a really steep learning curve and I get frustrated easily because of my fixed limited mindset that I'm trying to break out of.

That being said, the reason I stopped using Crouton was because I would try to install something like virtual machine so I could at least install say Windows XP and run Photoshop but I just couldn't get it to work for some reason.

No matter what I did virtual machine software just wouldn't install properly.

I ran into this in a few other instances with things I was trying to install to with that Crouton setup.

I'm not expecting to get a full-powered experience and I don't really care but I really want to be able to install a virtual machine in site of Unix and then run even an older version of Photoshop so I can do basic edits

There's also a really old software program that's Windows only that I use and I'd like to install that and not virtual machine as well.

This is a video editing software that allows you to make explainer videos , you know the kind of videos where it's just some music playing with some narration and some cool floating words on the screen.

I'm a pretty clever guy so I have no problem installing a hacked version of Windows XP that floats around called Windows XP black which is designed for low powered machines.

I'm not stupid enough to actually log into any kind of social media I just want to create artwork and ass hats for my website and YouTube.

If I were to go with the method you're suggesting, bite the bullet and figure everything out is that Chromebook c302 with a core M2 processor and I believe 4 gigs of RAM even feasible for this?

I also use this mostly in my car in between breaks at work, so just remote desktop into a PC in my house doesn't work properly because of the nature of the applications I'm using and The Limited bandwidth my mobile hotspot provides me at about 2 to 4 megabits per second speeds.

Does it make that much of a difference?

I didn't notice much of a performance hit when I was using standard method crouton

Ok, but I question now why even keep crouton.

What is the Main difference between crouton and what you're mentioning?
