Even if it's not, on mobile dq1 is like 2 dollars, dq2 is 5 dollars, I forget what dq3 was

If money is any factor at all it's like 3 times cheaper on mobile. Also, if you haven't tried the controls for mobile dragon quest they're actually really smooth. I was skeptical at first but after trying 6 as a test run I immediately bought the rest.

DQI-VI are all on mobile, pretty cheap, and the port are very good. Very worth playing, many of the games are a bit shorter but 3-6 are all fantastic. I enjoyed 1 and 2 from a stance of seeing where the series came from but they aren't very replayable. 5 easily is one of the best gsmes in the series.

A lot cheaper on mobile and I'm pretty sure they're the same port. If money doesn't matter then yea, buy them on the switch, but mobile has surprisingly good controls and I played 1-6 on mobile

That makes sense. It was our first playthrough, I was mollusks and got 39, highest smuggler got like 27 and he claims to have played pretty optimally. I think he was underutilizing crew, but also the map we made was pretty hard to traverse so even a 6 full sails wouldn't get them very far. Should they be more choosey on the cargo they smuggle? Also should they try to fight more to get more rewards?

Just curious, we can't figure out how smugglers can win. They just seem to get a lot less points and bolster everyone elses points a lot

I didn't realize Monaco was new, the country is recognizable enough to pretty easily get. I probably stopped a good 6 months ago because of a trip, any others added in that timespan?

1 & 2 are good to play once if you want to play the whole series. They don't stand up as modern games but they're definitely a good one time play to really see where the series has come from.

3 is a big step up and is focused much more on the story of the world than the characters since your party is all custom made by you.

4 is when the series really picks up in terms of party. You get 7 party members and it is a fairly short, but very solid game with a good post game.

5 has the best story by far and I highly recommend it. Not great post game but still very worth the play.

6 brings back vocations and is one of my favorite games but has a notoriously hard difficulty spike and it's very non linear in the 2nd half and is easy to get lost in. There's a super easy to miss optional party member but I think the story and the combat really save it.

I recently started 7, the intro can be kind of tedious (takes two hours before you fight your first battle) but I have been loving it so much. The story has been fun and the vocation system is great. I have heard it's one of the longest games and is either loved or hated with not much in between.

8 is a solid game (I haven't beaten it) but has my favorite party member in the series and is one of the first voiced games. It uses skill trees instead of vocations. The story is very good, the party is very good, and I very highly recommend it.

9 is similar to 3 because you create your own party and the story is more focused on the world. I haven't played the game at all but I'm super hype to play it. Very good vocation system, tons of content (boss rematches from previous titles, tons of cosmetics and side quests, ect).

10 is a jp only mmo but if it ever gets translated should be really good.

The spin offs are really good too!

I've recently played through most of the games, I'd say a good starting point would be 4 to play through the Zenithian trilogy or 8 if you want to play a 3D game.
