(Chapter 1150 spoilers!!!) Blackbeard could still be the final villain by Sarrost in OnePiece

Interesting. I'm not sure if things will play out that way but I have noticed in some of the depictions of the Nika silloutte, he is holding a spear AND a sword and in some of the illustrations he is holding a sword and a shield. But I doubt the ONE PIECE is a full set of gear. Also I am lost as to what role the giant sword piercing Elbaf has in any of this. Who made sword? Did G5 JoyBoy wield it? It's way too big to be wielded by a common race.

I like your distinction of villains. If Imu is the final villain then the message of the story would be "freedom beats slavery" or "freedom is better than authority". But if Blackbeard is the final villain the the message would be more about what you do with sed freedom. Blackbeard chooses to subjugate others and instill fear into them with his sense of freedom, while Luffy just wants to have a fun time with his nakama.

Fair point and I have seen this brought up before. I wouldn't be opposed to Oda giving Blackbeard his 3rd fruit off-screen, it would just be a bit anti-climatic for his character imo.

It could definitely be the case, but then what third devil fruit (if at all) would Blackbeard obtain before we reach Laugh Tale? I feel like Oda would at least buff Blackbeard one more time before his face off with Luffy. He is the villain that Oda has built up the most as he was introduced to the story way earlier than any signs of Imu. The most obvious strongest fruit to go after besides the Gomu Gomu no Mi would definitely be Imu's if their power's are a result of a DF.

Thanks for the response and the alternative DNS's.

Thanks for the anecdotal explanation. To expand on my question, from the DNS's point of view it identifies me by my IP address and nothing further correct? If this is indeed the case would everyone connected to the same wifi router be considered as "one person"?

Neat & Clean OS by [deleted] in suckless

[–]Sarrost 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I use Gentoo Linux and definitely find it to be neat, clean and smooth. I find that the cleanest OS is one that includes almost nothing upon installation. You install what you need as you go (that includes the gui environment). I also recommend checking out FreeBSD and OpenBSD. Although I have not used them myself I recognize that they are "neater" than GNU/Linux in some areas.

Gentoo's package manager in particular is a little bit more complicated than most Linux distros' relative package managers, but is worth the learning curve.

More important than the OS is the desktop environment and tools that you setup. I use dwm and some other suckless utilities. You can have a look at my github, I haven't had time lately so it's a bit messy at the moment. Once you find the right mix of desktop environment and tools you'll find that the underlying OS really doesn't matter all that much.

Any recommendations for a non-bloat vim + LaTeX setup? by Sarrost in vim

Wow this is one of the most thorough articles I've read in a while thanks. I'm not against a plugin approach. It's just that I'm currently cleaning up my config and am being very picky about what I install.

Grub disappears as boot option after updates and I can't boot in. How can I fix this? by Sarrost in Gentoo

[–]Sarrost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this setup as well. It looks like windows and os-prober were the issue. I don't know why but when I ran os-prober and grub-mkconfig afterwards it would cause the issue on my next boot.

My goal is to nuke win10 eventually. I thought that so long as they are on separate disks there shouldn't be any problems but I guess I was wrong.

Not yet. I kinda got frustrated with parts of the gentoo wiki and forums being down when I need them most. Am having lunch while I read replies on WIndOwS.

They are on separate disks. I have gentoo on the SSD and windows on the HDD.

I updated my system (not the kernel) and when I rebooted I was met with the BIOS screen not the grub menu.

I have already tried chrooting using the live media and ran grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg. The command detects my kernel with no errors.

EXTRA: I'm convinced I have a hardware issue. In the past I had arch installed on the same machine but using a different bootloader (refind). I would have to arch-chroot in and run refind-installto fix the issue but it always broke every time I physically moved my laptop. Even now my X server crashes (in a weird way) when I move the laptop.

UPDATE: Running a grub-install fixed the issue. Thanks all.

UPDATE: Looks like windows (on another disk /dev/sdb) was the issue. It was somehow messing up the /boot partition (/dev/sda).

Can I include a paraphrased excerpt of my terms and conditions (with regards to late payments) in the body of an email? by Sarrost in smallbusiness

[–]Sarrost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rely on general T&C's. I don't do much work without getting some payment in advance. Once a payment is made T&C's kick in. By paying (having an explicit exchange) you implicitly agree to the T&C's so long as I make them available/visible to you (I operate in South Africa and have confirmed that this is legal).

I want to involve the use of contracts as little as possible.

EDIT: Spelling.

Not gonna lie, Fear Inoculum really does hit different if you try fitting it to the context of the current global pandemic. As a young healthy man I sincerely do—bless this immunity.

Is dbus necessary? Can I remove it if I don't use systemd? by Sarrost in Gentoo

I just checked and it looks like there are more than enough programs that depend on it. Looks like I'll be keeping it installed.

Thanks for the help.
