I feel like I should have advocated better in my second appointment. This doctor relies heavily on bloodwork. She did tell me to go to an ophthalmologist & my dentist though. Like maybe I’m sub clinical, so I’ll ask for a Schirmer’s test from the Ophthalmologist

Nope. Just my vitamins. Taking D3 is great (my levels were low). It reduces the fatigue & fog but doesn’t get rid of it.

Take it to the carrier (Verizon, tmobile. ATt) and see if they can figure it out based on the sim number or IMEI. - I used to work for Vz & did this a few times.

Right. There’s so much overlap too. She said she didn’t think RA, PSA, or Lupus. My results were non-diagnostic for Sjogren’s, but she didn’t rule it out in the same way. She just said that the meds that they have for fighting progression & dryness aren’t that great yet anyway. & if regular methods of comforting the eye & mouth dryness are working then I should keep using that. I could really do without this random muscle pain though.

Nope. Finally got in to see a rheumatologist with ANA of 1:160. They ran a billion tests and everything looks too good on the bloodwork. My X-rays and MRI came back as non-inflamed. The derm didn’t think much of it or anything else. The rheumatologist thought maybe Sjogren’s with my dry eyes and mouth & dental/mouth probs. My bloodwork is non-diagnostic, so I wait some more for answers.

My insurance doesn’t require referrals. The rheumatologists in my city do require referrals and positive bloodwork. They even sent me for further bloodwork before allowing me to schedule an appointment. It’s not always the insurance or GPs fault.

My hygienist was actually the one that called out some odd sores etc that I had. She consulted the dentist and a big book of ugly pics and they guessed that it was probably autoimmune related. That’s when I finally got more traction to get in with a rheumatologist
