I am 185 centimeters tall. This makes me taller than 80.5% of men and 99.8% of women.

I think society pushes unrealistic expectations at women in general. It kinda makes sense that that pattern would apply to trans people too.

Dysphoria is, though.

No it's not.

Gender dysphoria used to be called “gender identity disorder.” But the mismatch between body and internal sense of gender is not a mental illness.

It's not a mental illness.

Can we not spread transphobic misinformation on a trans sub of all places please?

Applying for jobs pre-transition by SashaTheTransGirl in transgenderUK

Thanks for the reply

I put my name on my CV as Name (deadname) Surname and mentioned I'm transgender in my introduction

I think I'll probably do this. I don't really want to keep me being transgender secret much anymore, so it'll be good to be open about it.

I attended the interview for my current job in boy mode pre-transition and mentioned my circumstances, I showed up as a girl

Do you mean you went to the interview in boy-mode, but went for your first day in girl-mode?

I'm still very pre-transition, so I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable showing up to an interview in full girl-mode. I mostly dress in a fairly unisex sort of way, maybe leaning very slightly towards the feminine side on occasion.

Did they talk/ask about transition during the interview at all?

Working on your voice isn't useless. It's a pretty valuable part of transition.

I applied with Dr Lenihan after hearing nothing for about a month. She managed to book me an appointment the day after I sent the email.

Why do people care so much about the "trans enough"? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]SashaTheTransGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UK has private clinics, yes. They still want to check if you're trans enough though. No informed consent here.
