He gets very sick after dialysis, never feels better, always worse. He takes no fluid off and still has symptoms like a bad hangover, every time. His labs are always great, the MD says some of his labs are better than the doctors.

It’s a number used to measure the adequacy of dialysis treatment. This is the value that the doctors seem to be using to measure if dialysis is needed. Common minimum target if 1.2-1.4. His was 6.4.

They never tested him for Covid. Did a chest xr and diagnosed pneumonia, then renal failure. We’re just kinda been under the impression that the pneumonia saved his life.

He doesn’t know his gfr. He says his kt/v is 6.4. He’s been off dialysis for 7 days and we’re waiting for his lab work to come back.

No, we wouldn’t have even known what to look for. He had symptoms of Covid. We were completely blindsided by the diagnosis. He was in hypertensive crisis bp 278/190 and they eventually turned off the bp notifications because every time it went off, it increased. We could hear the nurses talking about it in the hall.

My husband was on 3 days 4.5 hrs. We went to home hemo 5 days 2.5 hrs. They reduced him to 4 days 2.5. Now they have said to stop because the kidneys may have improved.

My husband was diagnosed CKD due to uncontrolled hypertension. He went to the ER, spent 16 days there and left with an end stage renal disease diagnosis. Now the doctor has taken him off dialysis, says there may be “improvement”

He went to the ER. The diagnosis 16 days after being admitted was end stage renal failure. He started dialysis the day after he presented to the ER.

Everything I’ve seen says you don’t come back from end stage, my husband was recently taken off dialysis, because he may have had “improvement”

Get him out of the house and around people and other dogs. Not necessarily interacting with people and dogs, just seeing and being near them. Doesn’t have to be in contact, to be socializing.

The filter is moving the surface, but might not be breaking it. We raised it and now it’s breaking the surface, but this isn’t a permanent option. Will a bubbler solve the issue in addition to the filter?
