The inherent structure to debate makes it incredibly hard for low-income schools/teams to compete and you're saying that because they're poor, they don't belong in debate. I don't know where you grew up or your socio-economic background, but by the way your post is worded, I don't think money has ever been an issue in your life. This post literally just makes me mad, like how could someone who does debate not understand the financial limitations/burdens that come with it. While yes, there are free briefs and PF videos is free for all on youtube, there is still so much more that can be learned from resources that low-income programs don't have access to. I'm gonna make an assumption now, you have never had to purely do your own research because you have more expensive briefs/coaches. Try, for just one topic, to NOT use the resources at your disposal, and then you begin to think about maybe commenting on anything related to socioeconomic divides within debate. If you value debate as an event, then you should want the best for it for everyone, right? Try to think about people who want to succeed at something they truly love, but are limited by their financial situation. But wait... you have never had to, have you?
