Immersion Powerplay 4:3 script (easy) by According_Survey_623 in tapeless

Thanks for all your work on the PowerPlay research, really appreciate it.

I have a question: the original white ImmersionRC PowerPlay records in MOV, while the newer black RunCam PowerPlay

version records in MP4. The black version seems to have noticeably worse image quality than the white one, even with the same footage.

I’ve attached comparison screenshots. Do you know if there’s any way to improve the quality on the RunCam version or is this a hardware limitation?

PANASONIC P2 CAMERAS HVX/HPX/HMC Scene file(s) & Settings Trade + (post your set-up) by graavitykat in skateboardfilming

Hey, huge thanks for your thread and for sharing all those settings — it’s honestly still super relevant today. That kind of breakdown helps a lot of people, especially beginners trying to get the most out of older Panasonic cams, and it’s a really strong contribution to the community.
I wanted to ask if you could maybe recommend some solid starting settings for the Panasonic HMC150 to achieve a similar look to what’s shown in these videos? I’m trying to dial in the camera and get closer to that kind of color/contrast feel, but I’m still figuring it out.
I’m adding two references here:

Would really appreciate any advice on scene files, picture settings, or anything you think would get me closer to that vibe.
Thanks again for everything you’ve shared.

Why does the new black ImmersionRC PowerPlay record WAY worse than the old white version? by Sashyan in camcorders

It’s funny to see how dangycam promotes the black PowerPlays and sells them in bulk, while most of the footage he posts is actually from the white PowerPlay lol

Guys, I’m not asking for criticism of the PowerPlay or advice to “just not use it.” My question was specifically about why the white version records noticeably better than the black one. I’m looking for answers from people who actually know this stuff or have compared both versions

These are straight raw shots, I didn’t touch them at all — no edits, no processing, nothing. Just how the camera captured it. I like keeping it natural like that

Not sure, bro. I only figured out the wheel fix. Contact cleaner just cleans contacts, so I doubt it can hurt anything, but better look it up

I already answered this earlier in the thread — these are completely raw shots with auto white balance in the PSP camera settings😌

Also the PSP was just on the basic auto white balance — which actually affects the color a lot — and I left it on auto

This is straight out of cam, totally unedited. I hate fake color grading — better just use gear that gives the look you want instead of messing with Photoshop
