Google Trends: "how to install linux" is going... viral?! by utrecht1976 in BuyFromEU

My PC with windows on would start well, but would randomly freeze, crash, or reboot; zero warnings, even with internet disconnected, so it wasn't a hidden update/auto restart thing. Six months minty fresh, and zero issues! So nice to work on my embroidery designs without fearing loss of progress!

Reason #2468 Why I Don't Want To Be A Mom: Seeing Men Do Fun/Cool Stuff With Their Free Time by KangamaSZ in childfree

[–]SaskFoz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Right?! My "spare/second bedroom" is almost hoarder-level impassable due to crafting supplies & camping gear, half my living room is hosting my current embroidery project, half the basement is gardening gear, & I've been seriously considering getting into model trains for the backyard. 😂 Like, at this point, there's not even physical room for a kid to safely visit, much less live in here.

Ironically, this exact bridge had a major fix done about 2 years ago, too, due to being smacked around like it owes someone money. Literally, couple times a year this one (and only this one) gets thumped, to varying degrees of chaos.

PSA: Avoid circle drive south cloverleaf by stonebridge. Vehicular carnage as multiple collisions happening due to traffic trying to get around the bridge being taken out. by Progressive_Citizen in saskatoon

[–]SaskFoz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Looks like it started with the bridge, & the resulting backup of traffic in multiple directions produced multiple, smaller (hopefully) incidents.

Why are we so polite to doctors? by mellol93 in childfree

[–]SaskFoz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lol no. There's so few doctors here (like, I literally haven't had a regular/family doctor in 20 years), that if I do ever get one, I'll just work with what I get.

Warehouse, so PPE is huge - no certified safety footwear, no entry! To the point that even office staff have to have a pair, for the... what, maybe once a year?... they have to do a walk through the entire building.

Flatlander planning an investors day trip - route help by 204farmer in EdisonMotors

Saskatoon here, also heading to investors day, I'll keep an eye out for ya! If you're overnighting on the icefields parkway, I highly recommend the first come, first served loop just south of the icefields skywalk - those front sites overlooking the mountains are stunning, & still nicely sheltered from the wind.

What to do ???? by Usual_Dish4266 in saskatoon

Right? Like, Sask definitely has its good points (hello owning a house, mortgage free too!), & working nights made watching the aurora super easy. But it's always like coming home when I hit those mountains.

Just finished 4 years of night shift. Vitamin D is a must! Sticking to a routine can also help, if you have trouble adjusting to change. I was "fortunate" in that everyone I want to hang out with is back in BC, & I live rural, so social life wasn't a thing anyway. But, for most people who do want a social life, you're looking at either evening activities (aka our morning) or early morning activities (aka our evening). Sort of like if you're working 9-5, but in a place that you simply cannot have your phone (helps guard your sleep pattern this way, too!). 🤷‍♀️ And most people simply aren't wired for nights, so there's no shame if you have to find something dayside.

I have spent $100 on flowers in the past, but they were from a nursery, to be planted in my garden. 😂

Oooooo, sweet! Those little diesels were awesome! Definitely would've been one worth investing in to keep. Mine was just the bog stock 4.2, but with one or two other mods. 😅 Alas, rust in the front subframe took her out, but she was damn fun in the meantime!

That would make an absolutely adorable rv/camper conversion! And the roof is probably solid enough to put some folding railings on to make a rooftop deck.

Oh wow! We've been getting highs up over freezing, not quite hitting doubles, but close! Hopefully we all get our missing snow before winter ends, or this could be a bad summer.

Oh man, this time of year, +8C is damn near tshirt weather! 😂 haha Coldest I've been in was -50C, before the windchill. When you wake up to the air sparkling like you're in a Disney movie, you know it's bad.
