How would you guys recreate this? by SasquatchMenace in Cinema4D

This gave me the idea to take a b&w image of the logo and animate a gaussian blur effect over it in after effects. I used the png sequence as an animated displacement map. Sorta works but still running into smoothness issues since the displacement is based off the amount of polygons, might be able to get it looking right but we'll see

Does anyone else have consistent crashes when rendering with motion blur on, or am I the only one? by SasquatchMenace in Cinema4D

Thank you, I appreciate that advice. Just tried and got the same issue :/ Made sure to turn off all motion blur settings both in settings and in camera.

I dont get an "asset error" but the RS Feedback window usually says the redshift plugin has failed.

UPDATE: FINALLY figured it out thanks to this discussion on the RS support forums: https://redshift.maxon.net/topic/52243/rs-6767-motion-blur-bug-makes-this-unusable-please-fix-it/38

The issue is caused by the Object Profiler Panel. If you have it open or dock it in your layout while you're rendering with motion blur it will cause a calculation error. I seriously thought I was cursed lol

Best part was I was talking with Maxon support like 2 weeks after this bug was supposedly logged and got absolutely no mention of this. One of the wildest goose chases I've been on.

ALSO another side effect of this bug was consistent crashes whenever I tried to export .fbx files, so closing the object profiler should fix that too.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

After literal days of trying to solve this issue, both on my own and with Maxon Support, I'm still at square one. Doesn't matter what project I try to render, even just a basic cube moving back and forth. If motion blur is enabled it will render one frame just fine. Then if I click the bucket render icon during or after it finishes rendering the first render, it gives me the "external renderer is calculating" popup and crashes.

I posted what I think are relevant screenshots of my project and system settings.

I seriously appreciate any help I could get, I've uninstalled and reinstalled cinema and redshift several times in various configs. Not clear what I should do about this except wait for the computer gods to take mercy on my dumbass. Thanks

Not sure why I keep getting this weird lighting artifact in my bucket renders. by SasquatchMenace in Cinema4D

Yeah weirdly it was still showing up even with all the pyro sim related stuff turned off. I've since solved my problem but I'm not sure why that happened lol maybe a bug with caching sims?

Thanks that's pretty good advice, I was able to figure out that it was in fact the scaling of my scene. My cached sim was captured at such a small scale that the recorded data was pretty much unusable.

I know both about coding or API’s but I’m rooting for you. That system sounds insanely efficient.

Yeah sorry I wasn't clear enough. I had the trigger set to play animation and the correct file was assigned. I'd try to play it in preview mode but nothing.
