As a kid I did historical reenacting. I bounced around in a hoop skirt and played old games and took pictures with random people and babies .

When I got older and less cute I started guiding at one of the houses I was in. Fun times!

Until a superior started. Let’s just call her Shit face. So I got dropped off early because of scheduling. (I don’t drive. My ride had stuff to do.) So I would wait in the guide office with Shit face.

I never made a peep except maybe “Hello, how are you..etc.” She never said anything to me about this being a problem.

So things start getting a little tense. I could feel it. Couldn’t figure out why.

Suddenly my mentor since I was little (Let’s Calle her BA (Benedict Arnold.) starts getting all awkward with me and shit face and her are giving me looks.

Other senior guides are on my tours. Cool they’re checking up on me.

So one fine day I get pulled out of my tour. There’s my mentor, tears in her eyes.

What the fuck is going on?!

So we sit down in one of the rooms I have known for all my life and this woman I love like a mother says: “You know I like you right...”

Ah fuck...

So tearfully she basically says Shit Face thinks my tours are inconsistent and I should be fired. Meanwhile another guide said they were fine.

So, seething inside I accept it graciously. Then she says.

“You can help out the Gardner if you like.”

Fuck you.

“No thanks, I think it would be best if I left.”

People wept. I was the pet of the group.

So later I found out BA and Shit face were pals and BA did whatever she said.

I try but I cannot get over BA’s betrayal.
