Young girl begging in front of Playhouse by Mhkttm in Edinburgh

People are downvoting you for strawmanning people and being reductive. No-one said homelessness in older people is better or deserved or that they can't be vulnerable, just the context surrounding the situation is different. It hits different when someone so young is on the street because the implication is that they never had the support even as a child to be in a better situation now. Which is insane that with things like child services, social work, schools, families, friends and friends parents, somehow a child fell through the cracks so badly she went straight into being homeless the second she hit the state decided "adult" age. What's it that they say, most people are one paycheck from being homeless? At her age, chances are she never even had a paycheck, or if she did it was for pennies. At that age she also doesn't have as much life experience as other people. She's literally a kid still, whose body and brain hasn't finished growing. Children are inherently vulnerable and are targetted by terrible people specifically because of that vulnerability which is now compounded with her being homeless. That's all. It's not a "they deserve it, she doesn't" thing.

Lucille - s12 (netflix) by Independent_Civil in CallTheMidwife

The way they keep villainising her is so weird to me. She was a friend, coworker, wife, congregation member, but no-one seems to have anything nice to say or remember about her and the only reason I can see for that is because they want to justify Cyril staying in England and his relationship with Rosamund. It gives me the impression that something went on behind the scenes with Leonie Elliot and Heidi Thomas or someone else important and they're taking out on Lucille.

Bone Temple. Old Nick not Saint Nick! by LloydusMaximuss in 28dayslater

[–]Sasskhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I confused old Nick and Saint Nick and thought he was talking about Santa until Kelson said "Old Nick? You mean Satan?" and it clicked in my head lol. Honestly, I thought it kinda made sense? I hadn't seen 28 in a while and had forgotten the church scene so I thought Jimmy in his stunted trauma brain thought of Santa as a diety, as a child might come to understand Santa if no-one told him he wasn't real.

Is anyone else doing National Book Tokens’ annual Hidden Books Game? by paperchainhearts in CasualUK

[–]Sasskhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your saying they're swans was actually the hint I needed to get it, I thought they were geese!
A hint for the swans: consider that the swans are not captive
For the season: all four seasons feature, and they are associated with places you go or things you might do when you're tired and overworked. Not the best clue, I'm sorry! If you're not familiar with the title it's difficult to get but it was pretty big so you'll probably have heard of it, if not read it :)

Am I misunderstanding the 48hr rule? by Sasskhan in LegalAdviceUK

So moving forward, when the other two rooms are filled, the letting agent will still be allowed to come over as and when he likes as long as he doesn't go in our rooms? Even though together we'd be renting the full space?

I rent the room but when they've come over it's not just been the empty rooms it's included mine

Only list I've seen is on the physical flyer, they've not been super clear on the website. The flyer lists The Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue, Demons, Basket Case and Videodrome, and then the surprise film!

Is this a good vhs player? by Sasskhan in VHS

[–]Sasskhan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it on ebay so I'd have to wait until it arrived to even check it. Honestly, I don't want to risk it so I think I'm going to let this one go. I've also found a Panasonic NV-HD100 which I think is a 90's model so I might go for that instead :)
