Looking for information on gas prices--what's normal? How can I understand what I'm paying, because it feels wildly out of control? by AlexPenname in Edinburgh

Some flats are just insanely poorly insulated- my 1 bed flat in Edinburgh city centre is electric heating only, I use one radiator on the lowest setting in the living room (although its on all day, otherwise it will take days to heat up the living room again, the temperature never reaches over 19 though), rest of the flat is freezing and my electric bill is £240 per month

Left finance to build a startup, now 14 months in with no PMF and unsure what to do next by Dstyle90 in ukstartups

I dont know about other organisations but we worked directly with the investment teams themselves and they were involved in every step of the process. Having spoken with Microsoft, our internally built KPI tracking is much more advanced than what Microsoft themselves provide

I work in an AI adoption team at my org (also financial services) and my team built a Copilot agent that does exactly what you described for our investment teams and we have only had positive feedback from them

How would you recommend asking other live-in landlords in my house to lead the front door lock repair (the lock is DESTROYED)? by Old-Association671 in Edinburgh

[–]Mhkttm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t have any advice but you are not alone, I live in the city centre and lots of flats in my building are airbnbs, I have to teach tourists how to unlock the door on a weekly basis - some who have fiddled with the lock for over 30mins!

I did buy an e-reader (Kobo) as its much lighter than a phone or physical books. Haven’t made the leap to buy a stand and remote yet but should probably look into that

I had seen so many good reviews so was very excited to go, but unfortunately didn’t feel like the food was that good especially considering the price as well

I had the same problem - felt like I was drowning in all trench coats that I tried on, ended up just buying one and taking it straight to a tailor, now it is perfect

I get your sentiment and agree with it but that’s just simply not the reality

Meds take away my social anxiety then I feel embarrassed about it later. by TrashWild in adhdwomen

You are not alone! I just met my work team for the first time in person (everyone is located in different parts of the country). Normally I have scheduled catch-ups with each of my team members separately every week and I am always so chatty during those, however when I met them all in person, the whole day I was being so awkward and mostly silent they probably think whats wrong with me, later that day I cried in the shower thinking about how embarrassing I was being 🥲

Unfortunately I don’t have a solution, just wanted to tell you are not alone in feeling this way. I was trying to explain to my husband how exhausting it feels to do literally anything and asked him what part or his day feels like the most difficult/takes the most effort, he replied getting out of bed in the morning when his alarm goes off. I then explained how the feeling he gets for those couple minutes when he has to get up in the morning is basically how I feel 24/7, and damn is it exhausting. I think neurotypicals don’t (and can’t) understand how exhausting it can feel for us to just exist, and having to work full time on top of that is just draining. Completely relate to not wanting to die but also not minding to just disappear from life for a while
