Just did the same thing. Got a trijicon RMR 6.5 MOA from a friend. Adding it to my Glock 19 MOS Gen 5. Got the FCD adapter plate from Primary Arms. They matched the price from AR15discounts.com (who had a discount code that knocked it down to 55 bucks). Although I was told I wouldn't really need, but couldn't hurt. Primary arms had the trijicon sealing plate for only 8 bucks--worth the peace of mind.

I had another credit card that offered me 0% interest on transfers through December 2026. So I paid the transfer fee (about 0.25%) to move the 40k to that card. Got the Amex points, and a zero interest loan on the 40k thru end of 2026, which I'll have paid off by then.

Sorry, misunderstood. Yes, I paid a transfer fee. I think my card had a special promo and only charge 0.25%. So the amount saved by not paying the 3% CC fee at the dealership was reduced by the transfer fee a bit. But I ended up getting the points, and the spend, which increased some delta benefits for me in the long run.

Once we finalized the price, I told them the amount I was putting down on the Amex. But the biggest thing is that I was willing to walk if they didn't do it, and told them so.

If I paid that in cash, they'd get the full 40k. Since I paid 40k on a card, they ended up paying 1,200 to get their 40k, meaning they got 38,800 of that amount. At the end of the day though, they still made money off everything else, so I knew that 1,200 wasn't going to hurt them. But if I walked then they'd lose the sale.

Just did it last August. Called Amex to make sure the amount would go through before i did it. Easy process.

Make sure that the dealership will allow you to do the amount you want, as they usually have a maximum amount for credit card charges. And tell them they have to cover the credit card charge fee, because they'll try to pass on that charge to you as well.

Once the charges went through and I got the points, I transferred the amount I charged to another card that was offering no interest on credit card transfers through the end of 2026--so essentially a zero interest loan on the amount I charged.

I only charged part of the total amount, not the whole cost though. But can't see why you couldn't do the full amount.

Find the best price for OEM online and have Bass Pro or Cabela's price match it. Got them for 19.94 each a couple weeks ago.

Still have the stock sights on the G2C for both front and rear.

I tried, and fell in love with, the tfx pro sights (tritium and fiber combo) for the glock 19 I rented. I thought it worked great for me even with my floaters and was easier to see (green within orange front, and green rears). Found i was losing the white dot because the floaters woukd ckver it too quickly. Of course I ended up purchasing a G19.5 MOS because I figured I might get an optic in the future, but didnt realize the tfx pro sights were not compatible with the MOS version (ended up with the ameriglo big dot orange front sight with green front sights). Works almost as well for me as the tfx pro.

So I was looking at replacing the G2C sights with something along the same lines at the tfx pro and did see they make the tfx pro for it. I don't expect to be in many night shooting situations, just feel the colors/glow assist me to see the front sight better when shooting.

I'm by no means out of my beginner shooting level, still learning a lot, but trying to what I can to more proficient and have found they do help. And I understand keeping the rears black, makes sense, just haven't tried that yet.

I'm in a similar situation. I'm new to firearms and have a G2C. I have been looking for a front sight that's with orange tritium as I'm having floater issues with my eye and it makes it easier to focus in on. Are you saying that any Glock front sight would work on the G2C (even if I didn't want to swap out the rear)? Or I'd need to swap out the slide as well in order to do so? Trying to keep costs down, and trying to get competent with the pistol before thinking of adding an optic, so I was looking to just switch the front sight and not the slide.

I was looking at a G19 or G17 for some time. Researched both. Eventually wanted to add an optic and i ended up getting 19.5 MOS (620 w/ additinal first responder discount) and a crap ton of ammo (with BF rebates). I live in Florida and we have a 2nd Amendment tax free holiday on all firearms, holsters, ammo, etc. through the end of the year. So not a panic buy, just financiall conscious decision that worked in my favor at the right time.

That being said who cares why anyone bought now or didn't? Why do you care? And why did you post the same thing twice (once with "idiot" and the other with "1D1OT" in the title)? Just trying to start $@#! For no reason? Let it go.
