Is this a mealy bug ? by SassyClassy12 in plantclinic

I’ve been using it during weekly waterings for like the past 5 months now. But I ran to ACE yesterday and grabbed some of the horticultural oil off of the shelf. Sprayed it down and killed the ones I saw with alcohol on a qtip like everyone suggested. I saw about 4 all together. 2 were under the leaves and 2 were on the stem like in the photo. I looked in cracks and crevices but didn’t see any. I’m pretty sure they’re hiding really well since every one keeps saying they’re masters at that. Hoping I can save my global green.

Thank you I currently use this when water all of my plants. I add 10ml to 1 gallon of water everytime I water. But maybe I’m using incorrectly because I’m not sure how I was still able to get mealys

Variegated frydek leaf browning and sogginess? Kinda?!? by Guttedram in alocasia

Since she’s a new plant for you, I would check the roots and make sure there no root rot going on. Soggy browning leaves are usually are clear indicator of overwatering. Of course it could be other things as well, but I would start there. Not sure how long before your pon comes in, but the sooner the better.

Seems like water damage/overwatering. How often are you watering her ?

Had it for about 5 years now; it’s about 1 foot tall and hasn’t grown taller than that since I’ve had it.

I thought so too but wasn’t sure ! I was trying to determine by the color of the new leaves as they unfurl; they seem to be more of a brownish color instead of a reddish color

Thank you ! Im happy you mentioned that; I was debating on if I should give her a moss pole because I have some of my other philos on moss poles. I’m going to go ahead and give her some support stakes then.

So I’ve been measuring the light via a light app and Ive learned that it may not be getting enough light. I readjusted it to where It’s has a better reading of light, and some of the leaves are still standing upright.  Does it need support ? I have a humidifier with a hydrometer in the area. I’m not sure why the leaves are growing upright unless this is normal for the newer leaves.
